Pally Sig

decided to make an update sig for my guild forums...I followed Sveva's hair tut, and this is the best hair I've ever done. I feel like a dork because all this time I was using hard round brushes and wondering why my hair never looked strandy :P.

CC5 please, thanks.

The hair looks really good. I think to finish is off you should add in some deeper lowlights/shadows so it looks a bit more 3D. Also, add some darker shading on the part and around her ear.

The sword hilt is...wow. Very nice. You can't tell so much in the sig, but in the magelo the blade is not looking as clean as the hilt. I'd paint over that a little to sharpen up the detail and then give the blade and hilt so brighter shine (just little highlights...don't sweep over them with the dodge tool).

I'd also add some sharper highlights on the armor. Remember, highlights on metal are usually sharp streaks of brightness and not gradual like on some cloth. It wouldn't take much. Just put another layer over the armor and experiment with some thin white lines in the center of the soft highlights that are there now.

The text, as always, is :thumbsup

/Agree with Ry has c/c'd, my only thing is that the hair seems to lose definition at the ends. Like it's almost too soft. Other than that, I like the background and your fonts. Maybe make Keeper a little smaller, but that's probably more preference than anything.

CC5:

- Give her eyelids a little bit more umph. Since eyelids aren't flat, she should have a small highlight in the middle, where her eyeball would be underneath the lid.

- Same for her cheekbones. Just a lil highlights on them should do the trick. What I usually do:
Take a soft round brush, make it big enough to cover the cheek area, set the strength to around 20%. The click on her cheek until you get the desired highlight.

- She has a fairly large jaw. Perhaps moving the jawline up a bit towards her neck. Or smudging / blurring it a tad so it's not so pronounced.

- Highlight those eyebrows! =) They look painted on, no hair. I'd take the; Natrual brushes > Stipple size 12 brush, then shrink it down to around 4 or so. Strength on highlight around 5% and lightly go in the direction her eyebrows would. That will also give them more of a blonde look to match her hair.

- Her hair line doesn't really follow the line actual hair would go. But, that may be more of a pain in the ass to fix. I'd duplicate the layer before messing with it, that way if you change your mind, you can always go back to where ya started. What I would do:
With the smudge tool, take the same brush you used with the eyebrow, but this time take the size up to around 30 or so. Strength around 80%. Smudge some hair away from her forehead, towards her ear., then continue on with the tut ya used. Here is what I mean in case I'm not making sense: (dig the blue hair. /rawr)

You did an excellent job with the shine on her hair. I agree with Mae about the ends of it.

Everthing else I notice has already been mentioned. =)
Lovely lovely job.

/sigh I'm going to use the CC for future refrence hehe...the hair would have been a no prob fix had I saved all my layers...but I merged then all, and forgot to save all of my layers with this one :bonk ...yes, I am kicking myself.

Thanks again for the CC all, if I wasn't forgetfull I'd be putting it to use with this sig.
