Weathering the Storm

Well we're all set up to weather out up to three days with out power or water. I live in Austin and officials are asking us to prepare for a worstcase senario of three days with out power. I have everything my family needs. I will let you guys know how things went once the storms are over and we have power. They are expecting the rains to start tomorrow, and the eye of Rita to hit us some time sunday or monday. She will be a tropical storm then which gives us winds in excess of 80 miles an hour, torrential rains and tornadoes. We'll be hunkered down in our laundry room.

My prayers are with the people along the coast, and with those uprooted by these storms.

Be safe hun My prayers go out to ya and everyone that will be effected by the storm. I lived in Okinawa for 4 years We used to get some really bad ones but I don't think any have been as bad as some of the ones hitting the states recently. :( Take care and keep us informed !

I'm told we're going to just have a lot of rain and heavy wind in Dallas with much likelihood of a power outage. I've never been in a big storm before...

I'm scared :(

I wish nature would cut this shit out. It pisses me off when my power goes out.

I've been through a couple of hurricanes before, I used to live in Mobile, AL. If all we get are 80 mph winds and a bunch of rain I'll be happy.

GL and hope all is well. With that statement, isn't going underground the last place one should go if flooding gets real bad. Please rethink the scenario over with everyone before doing this.

hehe Aramous, our laundry room is just off the hall, nothing of our apartment is underground, so we won't be stuck six feet under or anything. Though it looks like Rita has moved far enough east that we personally won't be affected by more than severe thunderstorms and high winds.

Koopakat (for those who know him from SolRo and WoW) lives in Houston and as far as I know is on the road trying to evacuate. I plan on calling him later today to see how he's doing.

This one will most likely hit my parents and grandma pretty good. They are in Northwest LA. Luckily it should be a depression by then, but it'll still be the hardest hit I ever remember that area even having a chance of getting.
