Yeah, this is *slightly* different from the version Porter was modding.

Ah ok, interesting. Nope the sheriff doesn't vote to ID, he or she just picks someone that looks guilty or innocent whichever version they wish to know and sends in a request to the mods for an ID. That will tell them townie or mafia (except for the godfather) but it won't tell them the SK.

As for Jayne, that was a screw up on my part. I realize now he is an NPC (DOH). Scratch my observations about him…
I am curious Duexe. You said you were new to mafia, so how do you know how the mafia hits are chosen?

hmm. I don't know Pooka, it sounds good but had I gone to another board to play this game, I probably would not want to assume everything worked the same. I read Duexe's other posts before I asked the question, as well as checked the past mafia games to make sure he was truly new to mafia here, nothing in his posts indicated that he was thinking of this game like the others you played. So honestly, I think the question still stands.
Duexe that quote that you posted says that the Godfather sends the name in. it does not say how that name is chosen.

hmm. I don't know Pooka, it sounds good but had I gone to another board to play this game, I probably would not want to assume everything worked the same. I read Duexe's other posts before I asked the question, as well as checked the past mafia games to make sure he was truly new to mafia here, nothing in his posts indicated that he was thinking of this game like the others you played. So honestly, I think the question still stands.

Well, it was a different board but Verileah mods there also, under another name. I've played this game about 5 times now and the rules don't sound weird in any way. But accusing everyone who has a weird take on the rules makes you look a bit bloodthirsty yourself.

I swear I have never played this before.
btw... My angle was killing the wrong target, which no one has answered.
Somebody stated there are 3 mafia. Doesn’t make sense that they wouldn’t work cooperatively to chose a target.
Quite frankly, I'm surprised I am still alive.

Had he qualified the statement with a reference to games he had played in the past then I might have dismissed it. But, he did not. Doing so now would not help his case much because he already posted the quote from the FAQ as an explanation instead of mentioning past games. Add clue or two that can be pointed in his direction and you have someone who looks rather like mafia.

I'm playing Dad for today. It has affect my play obviously, first fingering an NPC and now this. I had to re-read what I posted after I gave my Daughter a bottle to realize what I posted. I dont multitask nearly as well as my wife.

HEADS UP on DEATH BY NATURAL CAUSES
If you miss two votes in a row you die of natural causes. k. owen and Briare, I'm looking in your general directions. Is "abstain" a vote as far as the natural causes rule is concerned? What if you vote but are killed by the SK in the meantime?

Actually you die upon missing your third vote. So after two missing votes you better cough up a name.
