Thats right. The great theater production is being made into a movie!

So I was watching this again yesterday, Ive had it on DvD forever but only watched it after it was given to me... like 5 years ago.

I thought considering it cannot be as good as the book, and it cannot be as exciting as seeing it on stage, it was really good.. Ive always thought that.

What I didnt realize, is Gerard Butler is the Phantom, omg!

Though honestly, I prolly had no clue who Gerard butler was in 2004, and his name wasnt on the front of the box...

Music of the night... When he first brings Christine down to his home under the opera house.

This is the scene where they are acting out Erik's Opera, after he has killed Sr. Piangi ( the leading actor of the opera ) to take his place.

Oh yeah. That is when I fell in love with Mr. Butler. I am a total Phantom Phan, book, musical, and movies. Though this version is my fav movie version. The horror one was a bit out there even for even my phandom. I

I have never seen the older versions of the movies, because I knew that they were not based on the book really. When I was 14 my chorus teacher had seen it and fell in love, and had us perform three of the songs from the show. After that I read the book, and for my sweet 16 my dad took me on a trip to San Fransisco for a weekend so we could see it. It was awesome, especially since the theater was turn of the century, with all of the gilt and carving that a theater should have.

I've seen it live three other times since then, once when I was pregnant with my oldest.. who coincidentally loves it nearly as much as I do, even though hes never seen it live. The other two kids can't stand it. lol

I love Phantom of the Opera. My mom loves it to death and used to play it all the time. I don't really remember having awesome feelings about this movie. It was just okay. But I only saw it once.

My favorite movie was the one with Charles Dance, but probably because I watched that while I was growing up.

Many years ago, my family went to New York City and saw it there. Most of that is a blur, but I remember coming out of the theater completely sobbing. lol

I love the musical! <3

My aunt took me as a graduation present back in 1989 to the production on Broadway. It was standing room only tickets and while my mom and aunt gave in and sat on the floor, their observations of me later were that I didn't take my eyes from the glasses nor move a muscle the whole time they were on stage. lol
