This is the storyline with the Spawn right - was that the name of the thing thing? Looks interesting.

I just saw this trailer. I'm intrigued. I like the venom story line so this should be interesting, not to mention they've done such a good job with these so far. I look forward to where they go with this one.

I think you mean the Venom Symbiote(sic?)
but somehow I doubt they'll use the secret wars origion of the symbiote, and instead use the space shuttle one they used for the cartoon..

They could also use the Ultimate version of the storyline. That was pretty decent.

And Topher Grace looks closer to the Eddie Brock of the Ultimate Spider Man Universe than the traditional Marvel one.

I thinkit'll be good. Sam Rami hasn't steered us wrong yet.

It was pretty decent.

A bit long...

But with four villians, it was bound to be.

Soundtrack not so memorable... Though the Spider-man theme was apparent at a couple moments.
Acting... Kirsten Dunst was finally given something to work with, and James Franco was simply mahvellus. I still think Tobey Maguire is awesome in this role. It'll be sad to see him go.
Effects. Top notch.

Stan Lee brings a good point in his traditional cameo.

Trailers were HP5, Rush Hour 3, Surf's Up, Bourne Ultimatum, Across the Universe, and one or two others I don't remember.

It was a bad start... 40 minutes into the movie the sound died. So we got shuffled over to a second theatre for no extra charge. Thankfully the second showing was 100%.

I thought they said this franchise planned on going on past the third like Xmen? Is this the final Spidey movie?

Agree it was a bit long, but I really didn't mind. At least I didn't fall asleep, or have my butt go numb.

I thought TM, KD, and JF were all very good, and got a kick out of SL cameo.

We also had problems with our sound, AND picture, but that was only during the HP5 preview, which also looked awesome. Once SM3 started everything was straightened out though, so all was good.

I cried.

It's TM's final movie. It has been reported that he has said he has no desire to do anymore.

It makes enough money for Sony that they'll likely milk it to the ground.

Going in I didn't know what to expect from Topher Grace as Eddie. But I was impressed. I thought he gave an awesome preformance!

James Franco .. well I'm totaly inlove with him , so any judgment would be bias lol But he was awesom too!! hehe

Effects totaly fucking rocked!!

My hubby and I loved Stans cameo hehe My son didn't get what was so funny at first then it clicked in it was stan so he tried to explain it to his friend ... took for like 2 min till we told him to stfu lol

It was a decent flick, I think the drama scenes needed improvment tho =x But the fighting scenes were great! hehe

It was kinda odd since it totaly went agianst the comics but thats hollywood and I can just imagion how much longer it would have made the movie ... lol

Are they doing more even without Toby? .. He totaly fits the Peter Parker image perfectly to me :( I don't know how good it would be without him *sniffles*

Just saw it yesterday. I won't spoil anything -- it wasn't great, but it wasn't bad either. It was enjoyable for a summer flick, nothing more. The only thing I would have liked to see from this movie was a more significant development in his relationship with Mary Jane as they're the reason why I like to watch these movies. I don't care about the bad men and the fight scenes. If this is TM's last movie, I can't see myself being interested in further sequels as I'd just have to invest into newer actors playing the romantic roles.

*** SOME SPOILER ***

HILIGHT BELOW FOR SPOILER STUFF

i loved it, but all it takes is a lot of punching and kicking for me to like anything. the dancing bit had me rollin, and the entire theatre was like "what the fuck!" when MJ kissed harry.

i wish venom was in it more. he looked really cool and only had like 15min of camera time. they should've taken him out and made him do a 4th movie of nothing but venom.

harry and spidey working together was really cool but i coulda done without him dying. he can get half his face blown off but some measley little spikes thru the ribcage does him in? puhlease!

still an A movie for sure. I didnt follow the comics so the descrepencies can slip right by me. But from what the BF is saying ( he only collected the spidey comics for about a year ) venom was a huge villain that was pretty persistant in spidey's world. so that was a let down. sandman was cool, but the ending was a little anti-climactic. it ended to fast. another 15-30mins woulda kept it under 3 hrs and filled out a lot.

I didnt like Toby playing Peter Parker that much - He was too emo looking for me....Maybe they find someone better to play the part in part 4 =D

Not an A movie - not even a C movie. I barely enjoyed this movie and I mean barely. WTF was up with the jazz club dancing? Seriously? The best parts were the action scenes - those were ri-goddamn-diculously cool but everything else? Oh my god. This was cheese and not even the good Gouda cheese, but more like Limburger.

I'll never get back those 2.5 hrs of my life. =(

I don't buy comics, I don't even know what happened in the first two movies. I agree about the singing and dancing, it just didn't do it for me.

I liked the sand-man. The action scenes were hard to watch, we saw it at an Imax cinema and we weren't high enough and somewhat off centre so the action was kinda blurry. I liked Toby when he was "good spidey" but when he was "bad spidey" he just looked too much like all the emo crud that is the rage as was already mentioned. The kids did laugh when he was dancing down the footpath and pointing at girls and stuff, they thought that was funny.

But I wasn't expecting to enjoy it, I went for the kids. I wouldn't choose this movie for me.

i thought it was aweful. It was far too long and they tried to cram the best bets into the last half an hour. The film had too much in it. They should have done a film just for spidey and venom. It was stupid.
Yeah and what was going on with the whole serious one moment and then comic the next? It broke the film up and didn't make it flow.... and Mr Emo Peter....ok get a grip...... wasn't even remotely amusing.
This is coming from somebody who actually enjoyed the first two films..... Shame...

I enjoyed this one. The effects and the action scenes were great, but to me some of the action was getting too fast paced. Maybe because we went to a Saturday morning matinee and my brain wasn't totally awake or something, but with everything flying and swinging around at 1000mph was making it hard to know wtf I was looking at sometimes; in particular when Spidey is being chased by Goblin Jr in the beginning.

My only other problem with the movie was WTF was up with MJ? She pissed me off. I think part of it is because when I first saw Kirsten in any movie, it was Interview with a Vampire which I thought she was an incredible actress for a lil girl and I remember thinking she was going to be awesome when she grew up. Ehh. Apparently she peaked at 10. But from a character standpoint, I don't get the whole break up scene. I mean, come on! You're afraid of the Goblin?? Your freakin boyfriend is Spiderman!!!

i'm not that much interested in this movie, and after reading the comments, i think i'm definitely not going to see it. sure i'll get the dvd cos my mom's a marvel fanatic and got every marvel movie that came out, spiderman 1 2 included

I enjoyed it on some level. Certainly wasn't as great as the first 2. You're trying to finalize and resolve the current storyline (so new movies can start fresh) while tossing in 2 pretty pivotal (sp) characters in the Spidey verse (Gwen and Venom).

While in the black suit, Spidey worked fine but they needed to make him darker (like his confrontation with Brock in the office) not laughable.

MJ needed a bitch slap while Peter needed a clue lol.

Sam did alot better coordinating the new characters than say Brett Ratner who completely destroyed X-Men.
