82% Dixie. Do you still use Confederate money?
I can't help it, I was born in Michigan but raised all over down South. Once had a kid overhear me talking to a group of friends at lunch. When I got up to throw something away, he came over and asked them what language I was speaking. Southern drawl packed into the speed of someone who learned to talk up North. I speak mah own language ya'll! ;)
Dixie or Yankee?

I don't get 'down' from my 'truck', I get OUT of my CAR. And I say, 'excuse me/pardon me/huh instead of 'do what?'
Crazy southern fuckers!

76% Dixie. Your neck must be a little pink!
I've lived in Texas for 21 years, and I only have a pink neck? I guess the 24% of brownness is keeping me from being completely hick. If accents indicate Dixieness, then I would be 100% Dixie.

Well I was born and raised in South Jersey.
Seriously though, this just proves that geographic location is no boundary for defining people.

WTF -- How do people in the area where you grew up pronounce oil?
AW-wee-yul
OH-wuhl
erl
all or awl
Oy l...I do not say Aw wee yul...in fact that sounds completely goofy.
I also do not say Oh wuhl, erl, all, or awl...Oi l -- Oy l... I don't know how to write it any better, but none of these fit :P
22% Dixie. You are a Yankee Doodle Dandy.

How can they not include the correct pronunciation for oil?
Oy-uhl or oyl.
Not to mention NOT getting the correct pronunciation of 'water' for the Delaware Valley. It should be "wood-er".

However in true Baltimore/DC fashion I hit all the ones for a southern urban area that I could have. Go figure. Hey I am just south of the Mason-Dixon line, so it must be geographically correct.
On the second test:
35% Dixie. You are definitely a Yankee.
The funny part is both tests all my answers were slanted toward the West/Mid-West which is where my family is from. I am willing to bet if you look at your score, its more reflective of where your parents are from, and less from where you grew up. As our parents are the ones who teach how to speak.

I dunno Pros...my mom is a Hoosier, and grew up with 'criks' and and an 'ice box' and a 'warshing' machine...I don't use any of those words. Besides, last time I looked even Indiana was a northern state.
