First: 10% Dixie. You are as dandy a Yankee as they get!!
Second: 0% Dixie. You are as dandy a Yankee as they get!!
Not really surprising given I was raised in Canada. Though I bet my mother would score much higher. She often "fixes to go" places.

Indiana isn't considered a state. I have driven through Indiana. There are 7 houses, a truck tire, and 2 AM stations. The 1 FM station I originally thought was an 80's station, then I realized that I was so far out from Cleveland the broadcasts from 20 years ago were finally catching up to my car!!!!
That and Indiana is more southern then northern. Kinda of an anomoly. Having friends/family in Chicago and Cleveland, I can tell you the accent at the rest stops from the locals is NOTHING like either city. Go figure?
Shay;69144
I dunno Pros...my mom is a Hoosier, and grew up with 'criks' and and an 'ice box' and a 'warshing' machine...I don't use any of those words. Besides, last time I looked even Indiana was a northern state.

I'm doing good, Crikett, how about yourself?
We have a new guy here in my department from New Orleans area. Our first conversation after we hired him went like this.
Me: Where ya from?
Him: Louisiana
Me: Oh, I'm sorry, I'll try to talk slower :p
I actually did say that to him lol, but I had known his brother for years (which is how he got his job here) so he was already warned that I'm a smartass :p
I like to pick on Southern folk cause y'all are just different to us and you eat some strange stuff (crayfish? gah!). But I will give you this...in general, Southern folk are by far nicer than us northerners. Every time I go down to Florida I have to de-northernize myself on the flight down. I mean, y'all actually smile and say hi to each other in passing...even if you dont know the person! Up here, you'd catch a beat down for that lol. Maybe not physically, but you'd definitely would tend to get a "WTF are you talkin to?" look :p
In all seriousness, I do like the south overall. Y'all just talk funny :p
P.S. I was gonna say Yins instead of y'all, but I actually outgrew that when I was a kid for some reason. But you do hear that in PA.

One of my favorite things about the south is that we say ma'am and sir to every one. I was talking with a woman who had recently moved here, Austin, from New York for work and she said that she had to bite her tongue a lot, especially when the boy behind the Subway counter says "What would you like on your sandwhich, ma'am?"
I don't agree, but she says that we even drive politely down here. Which I guess compared to New York we do.

If she was used to driving in or near New York City, like say within a 25 mile radius, then yes, Austinites drive much more politely.
And Shay, back when I was ~6 we drove from Colorado to NJ, and went through Indiana. We tried desperately to not stay at an Indianan rest stop, but had to. My dad woke me up that night at ~3am and showed me a moth sitting on a wall that had to be as big as a football. Of course my mom woke up at my "wow, COOL!" and wanted to go knock it off the wall...
