Happy New Year!!! Incoming resolutions!

We all make them and never keep them, but its still fun to share what dreams and goals we have for ourselves in the coming year.

Hrmmm, here are mine:

1. To be a better mother.
2. Learn to count to 10 so I dont rip the bard's head off.
3. Accept that bar fights are not a civil way to finish an argument.
4. Color more with my daughter.
5. Write my sister in laws more.
6. To be not so judgemental. Doesn't matter what I think of someone if they're ok with it.
7. Write more stories. I have a few on the site, one in particular I need to finish. I plan on doing that this year.
8. Draw more with my tablet. I want to start a portrait of vebran as a surprise, of course it wont be if he reads this but odds are he wont so the secret is safe. :teehee
9. Do a back bend and not pull a muscle. =/
10. Lavish my husband with kisses and hugs.
11. Learn to dance. Alas I'm brown and cannot =(
12. Learn to braid my daughter's hair. Its hard!
13. To never forget the face of my father or who I am.
14. Lose X amount of pounds. Screw you I'm not telling!
15. Run more. Hell I bought a tread mill last year, might as well use it.
16. Give more gifts.
17. Appreciate what the good lord gave me.
18. Teach my daughter her god given right to choose freely.
19. Learn the words to 'Spongebob Squarepants' theme song.
20. Accept that the world is not perfect and that these resolutions shouldnt just be for nothing.

I am truly blessed by my friends who visit my site and keep it busy. Thank you for a glorious 2004.

1. To be a better mother.

You are a wonderful mother already! How can you be better? But I understand. I feel the same. I can never do enough for my daughter.

2. Learn to count to 10 so I dont rip the bard's head off.

Oh rip it off who cares? As long as you are happy, Miss Mae!

3. Accept that bar fights are not a civil way to finish an argument.

Heheh...memories

4. Color more with my daughter.

Don't believe what they say! Browns dance the best :P

19. Learn the words to 'Spongebob Squarepants' theme song.

"who lives in a pinapple under the sea?" - Here's your start! This one really made me laugh because I am trying the same thing! Now you got that stuck in my head again :(

OK here's mine:
1. Cook more and dine out less
2. Become a US citizen

That is all :P

Kids: Aye-aye Captain.

Kids: SpongeBob SquarePants!
Captain: Ready?
EveryBody: SpongeBob SquarePants! SpongeBob SquarePants! SpongeBob SquarePants!
Captain: SpongeBoooooob.... SquarePaaaaaants! Haha.
==========================================

My Resolutions:
2. Fix my body.
a. I must turn my party ball gut into a six pack!
b. Stop making excuses for not going to gym.
c. Eat more gooder. (bye bye Dr. Pepper, and other assorted junk)

1. Be a better parent. I have a short temper some times...need to work on that. It's difficult with a kid with ADHD, but something I should work on. My GF is much better at this than I am. (My boy's bio dad is a real P.O.S, and ADD apparently runs in his family.) I'm open for any advice if you have it. For two years now, I think, I've done pretty well. :) I love him to death. He is very smart, funny, but he gets into his button pushing mode and...oofah! This should be number one, So I will re-number now.

3. Get my website up before February.
a. Post all work done, and continue to work on new art without getting lazy.
b. Try to take on commission work.
c. Learn as much as I can, and put out better ads for the company I work for.
d. Practice practice practice.

4. Get some customizing done on my car before I wreck it and end up driving a Geo Metro or something like that.

5. Well I'm sure there's more, but I already forgot them, so must not be that important. :)

HAHAHAHA, thanks rikr! Veb downloaded it for me and it said it was by Weird Al. I wonder if that's really true.

I couldnt imagine how stressful having a child with ADHD could be, but I'm sure its rewarding too. You're a good man, Charlie Brown. I'm sure most men wouldnt bother to try with their step kiddos. :hug

Oh and yeah my stories are in the lyrical nonsense section. Warning though...they're kinda...dirty. :o Back before EQ i was TOTALLY into the xfiles and started writing fan fic, mostly erotic. I'm what's called a 'shippy'. I believed and desperately wanted Mulder and Scully to HIT IT!!! :teehee Which they did and had a kid but eh...after season 7 it sucked. =(

Dirty stories are fun Mae!

I don't make resolutions, as they only seem to stress me out. However, I do have some goals for this year.

1)Buy and then acctually use the Bow Flex my husband desperatly wants

2)Pay off the credit card

3)Purchase and pay off a new computer for myself.

As to kids with ADHD, I have found that the most important thing you can do is give them your time. Every day, give them time that is just between you and your child. I have a hyperactive child and this has been the key to our success with her.

They really do understand that you are human and if you spend time with them, the times you lost your temper seem less devestating to them.

Very good advice, and very true. :) We do things with him every night and we have specific nights where its just me and him, and mommy and him. He loves the Chuck E. Cheese, so we go there often to play the games and just hang out.

Some of mine are the same of some of yours!

1. Be a better parent...this entails actually having children :o
2. Start working out...I've been lazy the past few months!
3. Get my website up! In progress!
4. Decorate/paint my house.
5. Get younger. Ok I know this is impossible but I'm hoping that this year instead of turning 31 I will turn 29...not a bad plan imo!

Hugs to all!

The only resolution I made this year was to get back into shape and make another run at least the '08 Summer Games trials. 3 years is not a lot of time but I should be nice and rested after 5.

Hmm, my dad played water polo, he is not quite 6'. Of course, that was in the 60's. My brother also played, but only in high school, he is abou 5'7". If you *think* you can't, you can't. Smaller size = greater agility, that's what my dad had going for him in the sport, he used to have the entire opposing team focused on blocking him.

Some of the guys I used to play with who went to play at USC stood 6'2" at 200 lbs at about 5% body fat. 5'8" at 160 lbs is murder playing at NCAA Division 1 and olympic levels. There is no agility difference to a larger body in the water playing that level of polo, they move just as fast but have way more punch to the back of the head from further.

1. Sex
2. Success
3. Learn how to draw

Used to draw Disney characters pretty well in the 2nd grade, but then I stopped. Not a necessary skill for graphic design, but I would like to scan my own sketches. That way, I have less copyright issues to deal with.

I guess what turns me off is all the smudges. I constantly erase and trace back over. But now I have Illustrator at my disposal. Can play around with bezier curves endessly without leaving a stain.

Fact remains, I need practice. I've made an ok logo through trial and error, but too many errors for my liking.

One girl in class who mentioned something about drawing from the right side of the brain. Supposed to work wonders. Has anyone heard about this? Or something similar that's available on the net? She keeps on procrastinating, and I keep on forgetting to remind her :(

right side of the brain controls creativity and such things.

left side is logic and such things.

I've known that for a while. I'm asking for references on how to draw directly from the right side.
