i dont see any shadows. and the lighting on her skin seems weak.. not the pink or blue lights, but the white light.. not sure what it is but it just doesnt have much depth ?

i'd also postwork some glow on the blue orb thing. it looks weird to be coloring the objects around it but not emitting any type of light.. if that makes sense?

Yah, this works for me. I like it. Kind of dark and smooth, has a good feel to it. Nice job.

with post work now
Vex 17 years ago
mucho better! only thing is her shadow hits the back wall =x what i would do is render a version with the back wall hidden so ehr shadow stays flat, then render the back wall with her and the grass hidden ( so it doesnt cast shadows on it ) then layer them together so you can get rid of her shadow.

unless there's a way to turn off 'receive shadows' in DS ( i really dont know =/ )

but she really pops out now, and is much more vibrant =)

Holy moly. Other than the shadow hitting the backdrop, I think it's amazing.

Looking good I echo what Vex said hehe

re rendered in layers like you said vex =P

soooooooo pretty! Looks great and that really worked to fix the floating shadow problem And rendering in layers is the way to go! I do it on almost everything, you should try it more often!!

My only bits of CC would be : Work with the shadow on her left shoulder. The hair is obviously floating abit above her skin since the hair and shadow don;t connect. Just softly smudge & connect the shadow and it should "ground" it. Oh, and I would darken up the shoulder pad that shows behind her hair on that side as well to simulate the hair blocking some of the light to it.

C/C - I think the sparkles look too heavily saturated with color. It doesn't at all match the color tones of the entire piece. Instead of doing colored sparkles with a whitish outer glow, try the opposite - white sparkles with a soft color instead, and ease up on the opacity of the outer glow too. Hopefully it won't look so heavy and obviously photoshopped - it just doesn't much match the overall tone.

That background looks outstanding, nice shadows, great pose and nice flow on her dress!

wow! this is looking great! your lighting is perfect for the effect!

I agree with Roz on the sparklies, though I wouldn't have a clue what to do with them! They just stand out to me and draw away from seeing the overall picture.
shiyla 17 years ago
fixed the hair and shoulder pads(thx temp) and added some strands

killed the opac and spread on sparklies and muted the color to a pale pink(thx roz!)

Vex 17 years ago
i say stick a fork in her. it looks good =)
ROzbeans 17 years ago
There ya go, the sparklies don't look completely overwhelmed with color now.
