Fairies

Okay, I need to see if I'm doing this correctly and how to actually do it if I am doing it correctly.

I want to create a fairy--wings and the whole deal. I know I cannot do that in Poser. I can create the figure and do the background in Poser, but the wings HAVE to be done in Photoshop since there is apparently no wing props for fairies that I can find (at least, wings like I want).

So, I set up everything and render my scene to make sure everything is as I want it. Do I then take the character out of the scene and render my background props; then put the figure back in and take out all the background props and just render the figure by his/herself and save that as a separate file and merge the two in Photoshop so I can put the wings "behind" the character without making it look weird? Is that how that is done? Or am I once again making things too difficult?

Ive done it that way before

Have you got Thorne's universal wings for poser/daz?
Theres tons of textures for it and its really versatile.. and free, alsotheres the fairy wings in DAZ that also have many many textures available..And RDNA has some really nice individual wing props.

No, I did not know Thorne had universal wings. I'll have to find those. Thanks for telling me about them.

here, youll need to register to this site, but theres a list of Thorne's freebies, and if you look around on Daz freebies and Renderosity youll prolly find a bunch of textures for them.

anything that says Thorne's or Universal or U Wings ought to work with the above.

You don't have to "takeout" stuff to do layered rendering. What I usually do is set everything up the way I want it, then use the the "hide/unhide" command (I think it's under edit) to render each layer. This way, each layer renders the same size and everything is in the place you actually want it. and only those things you need in each layer are there!

yep! Only thing it doesnt work too well is lights, at least in Daz, but when youre doing that you prolly want to leave the lighting the same anyhow.
