Hey, she might've done something which required an aussie accent hehe. Don't know, haven't seen her in much prior to BW except Jekyll... which I recommend.

Shatner was 35 when he played Kirk, and Pine is only 28.

1) 28 is a lot younger than 35.
2) Modern Hollywood pics actors who look even younger than they are, thus really accentuating the age difference. He could pass for a college kid, whereas early Shatner already had a somewhat mature look.
3) Forget college, he'd be almost believable in a high school role.

28 is 20% younger than 35. 1/5 is pretty significant. I met a girl I thought was younger than me when I was 20. Imagine my surprise when she turned out to be just shy of 10 years older. The very fact that she looked so young made it hard for me to ever see her as her age.
Same thing with this guy. I just can't see him as Captain Kirk. It's the same issue I had with Cyclops and Jean Grey in X-Men. He looked way too young for her.
They could've at least updated the hair instead of sticking with the old 1966 haircut.
