Awww, I liked Wolverine And I bet I'll like Star Trek too, even though I'll have a hard time thinking of Sylar as Spock. Yeah, I'm not a Trekkie or a comic book fan, so it's all good.

I went with my mom to see it Friday morning. She is a HUGE trekkie, and I'm pretty much a fan, too - more because I grew up immersed in it, lol. I was expecting the movie to be fair, but wow, I absolutely loved it. I thought all the casting was spot on. I don't watch Heroes, so the dude as Spock didn't freak me out. I especially liked the characters who played Bones and Scotty.

The guy who plays Bones is Keith Uban - god he is yummy. He was in Bourne 2 as the other assassin, Chronicles of Riddick as the Underverse bad guy's right hand man, and in Lord of the Ring 2 and 3 as the old king/ruler's blonde soldier...guy. Also in DOOM as Reaper.

Scotty is Simon Pegg from Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead, Run Fat Boy Run, and Everything I hate about you. He is friggin hilarious!

Thanks, Roz! I knew I had seen both of them before.

Me and Ria gonna go see it Monday She's not even a Trekkie fan lol, she just wants to drool over the guys...

Oh hell yeah, Kirk is all hot. I loved this movie - it'll appease Trekkie fans (like me) and really appeal to the 13-40 demographic. Oh and there's nothing after the credits =/ I loved it and I want to see it again!

I went to see this opening day with my Dad, sister and niece. I have many childhood memories of sitting around Saturday afternoon watching Trek reruns with my Dad.. he took us to see quite a few of the movies when we were kids so going to see the reboot with him was awesome!!!! My niece (who is a hard core Star Wars fan) was quite miffed at being drug off to watch this but even SHE loved it. The AR twist was great and have to say I found the little romance in it surprising and rather cool. Can't wait to go see it again.

Yeah Spock and Ahora wtf? lol. Were they an item in the original series or was that just for this film?
Vishanti 15 years ago
I've pretty much forgotten the majority of any ST knowledge picked up as a kid, but Kirk and Uhura had a hyped up onscreen kiss in the original series. It might've been the first interracial one or something.
ROzbeans 15 years ago
Yeah Uhuura and Spock never got it on. There were no relationships between the Enterprise crew, despite other spin off relationships that evolved. Just the bro-mance between Spock/Kirk/Bones.

What

An

Awesome

Movie!

I lurved it. Wasn't 100% sure I would be able to follow cuz I'm not a Trekkie but wow... I enjoyed it from the very beginning

Saw this with m'Lady on Saturday.

I thought it rocked. Chills, laughs, sniffles, thrills.
Even m'Lady liked it a lot, said it was very easy to follow - having not voluntarily watched any previous ST shows/movies - and was the first to say she wanted the score

(Can only get the score from Amazon)

Finally! I was almost ready to recall your honorary Star Trek commission and change your ring tone!

We took the kids to see it at a local drive in here in Washington last night. Drive ins are notorious for being horrible if you're seeing a dark movie - ie Incredible Hulk (couldn't see the ending fight at all), and Escape from LA (we couldn't see half that movie, not that there was anything to really see from that sequel, poor Kurt Russell) but Star Trek was bright and beautiful in the warm Washington evening. The movie didn't start until almost 9:45 and I forgot David's binky (RED ALERT, RED ALERT - CRYING BABY) but Catherine was absolutely enthralled with it. I can't wait to see it with my father.
