New Year's Eve - what the hell happened to 2007?

My plans..? I bet we'll probably play EQ2 till I fall asleep at my keyboard somewhere between 10 and 11, then the dogs will go crazy at midnight when the fireworks start because they're scared to death so they want to climb all over Mommy.. and then I'll go back to sleep. I have to work today so I've been up since 5am. *sigh* Me staying up til midnight is gonna be impossible unless I have me a few cups of coffee from Starbucks after dinner.. except then I doubt I'd get ANY sleep =/

Tomorrow it's black eyed peas, cabbage, ham and potatoes so we start the year off right and (hopefully) have health, wealth, luck and bounty all year long!

I'll be bringing the girlie over to her friend's house for a NEw Year's Eve Sleepover party, and then probably playing EQ until... well, Temprah's night sounds pretty similar to mine ;) Except the fireworks; I'm sure I'll sleep through 'til 2008. I'm just glad I'm not working tomorrow; wish I had taken TODAY off, since it's snowing like hell outside (uh, okay, that didn't make sense).

Anyway, premature HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone =)

Hubby and I have no plans... maybe we'll veg on the sofa watching movies and ring the new year in the right way! *wink*wink*nudge*nudge* That sounds like a good plan to me :)

I actually got invited to TWO parties this year, but ruled one out quick because its a 30 minute drive :P
Since the weather calls for clear skies (its sunny and gorgeous now) I've decided I AM going to the other party...I haven't been to a NYE party at someone else's house in several years...looking forward to it.

For all of you that are enjoying winter at the moment, spare a thought for some of us Aussies that had to suffer through temperatures of 107.6 F / 42 C during the day and 82.4 F / 28 C overnight. It was not nice. I spent the night playing WoW in air conditioning, but there were many out drinking and partying in the heat. There will be many bad hangovers this morning.

I can not even bring myself to imagine either Christmas or New Year in the summer...it's just....wrong lol. This time of year is for house parties and snuggling up by the fire n stuff lol.

At least I'm not sick this NYE... like I had been the past 5 years...

Chinese buffet for dinner with the parents (since the one party I'd been invited to had its invitation revoked when the girl "dumped" me...) and read a Star Trek novel up til just before midnight.

Party was fun, but I came home before midnight.

We had quite a nice dinner and them came home, opened a bottle of Rose Moet and Chandon Champagne and had a nice little party for 2 :) It was really nice. We usually go to a party at a friend's house, but decided not to.

I am glad to see the end of 2007, it was a rough year. The last month was especially rough, but it is over now....yay!!!

2007 kicked my ass, but I have high hopes for the coming year. I spent New Years Eve with a couple of friends -- we spent most of the evening talking about life and everything and clinked glasses at midnight. I usually go really mellow for New Years, and it was nice to sit in front of a warm fire on a cold evening.

I went to my old empty house and cleaned it with my mother. My mother in law took the kids for the night and mom and I went to dinner while we were on the east side of town ( its about 30 miles to cross town so I dont get her over there too often ) Then we went to her house, poured champagne and read books, at midnight we stepped out on the backporch and watched as a church nearby set off fireworks and the nearby ghetto neighborhood rang in the new year with gunshots..

i actually went out for the first time ever on NYE - and had alot of fun! didn't get home til 1pm the next day (hotel right down the street from the club - no way I was gonna be out driving if I didn't have to!!!). Amazingly enough, no hangover, though I tweaked my neck something feirce. lack of sleep and that made for a miserable first, but all better now!!

So a night of Rock Band and junk food, we all sat around and bullshitted till about 11pm hehe. Jello and her fam live clear across town now so they went home before midnight. Mike cleaned up while I just sat on the couch all sleepy and dazed when I noticed the time.

12:01 am.

'Oh hey,' I said to Mike as he walked by me.
'Yeah, let's go to bed.'

Then he kissed me Happy New Year and helped push me up the stairs. =D

2007 has been very eventful for me. More than I would hope anyone would normally push into one year. (I know You all know this...but I'm sayin' it again anyway.)

In that order. It's been very crazy for me, so yeah 2007 flew by, and I forgot to stop and look at it. I'm hoping my 2008 slows down just a little bit, and has a little less stress in it. New Years Eve this year was very uneventful. I was asleep by 11:30, and my wife woke me up to say it was the New Year, and I looked at her and fell back asleep I think. I feel bad about that I really do. I just didn't care. Never really get into the New Year thing anyway.
