awwww!
So my daughter has been sick since friday, and has kept me up half the night since. Well Hubby had to stop and get gas and he brought us home flowers.
Ok I'm done gushing, I'll go back to smelling my flowers now.

Grocery store bouquets are extremely cheap and often just as pretty as those bought at a florist, just for future reference. The Kroger where I live has etraordinarily gorgeous flowers at certain times of the year. I treat myself to a bunch or two throughout the spring and summer. My favorite from last year was a bunch of white daisies that I mixed with some lime green mums. They were so fresh and cheerful.
For some reason, I really enjoy flowers that I've picked out myself and arranged just how I like them. I have a pretty green ceramic water pitcher gifted to me by a friend that I always put flowers in.
Rob got me flowers once. For my birthday one year. He ordered them from like 1-800-FLOWERS or something like that. They cost him like $80.00. I had to bite my tongue so hard to keep from chiding him for spending so much on flowers, as all the money goes to the middle man (or two or three). Several weeks later I nodded to some roses at the grocery that were $14.99. That was when he finally realized that it doesn't have to be expensive to be romantic.
Grocery flowers, gas station flowers, it's the thought that counts!
Anyway, he's not a flower-giving type of guy so I don't even think of it anymore. Some guys are, some aren't. He's good at other things.
Like the DISHES.

oh wow, the dishes. Tell him to get to know Drade and teach him how romantic that can be. ill tell ya, especially to a mother, a busy one lol, doing the dishes or cleaning up after the kids would earn him some hardcore...snuggles.... quicker than a few flowers. lol. Hmm.. i need to tell to come read this site lol!

So not telling you that, Ryala. :whisper
My hubby always seems to know the perfect time to bring them home for me. I have yet to know how he does that, but he does.
He helps around the house most everyday so that isn't unusual for him. What makes me all tingly is when he does laundry. weee!

My husband was reading over my shoulder and he says your husband is a freak. *nods*
Of course it takes one to know one. His particularly decorating phobia is pillows. As far as flowers are concerned, if I ever get any from him I will know he's done something wrong.

My husband is a jackass to the highest degree. But, I had a sweet boyfriend back in the day who used to stop on the side of the road and pick wildflowers for me. =)
I don't care to get flowers though, they seem to be such a waste of money since they only die shortly after receiving them. If I was gonna get anything for a suprise, I'd prefer it to be a rented movie, ordered pizza, a coupon to bath and body works, etc.

I actually agree with Immy. Cut flowers are dead things, I'd much rather get something useful, like chocolate. ;)

I HEAR YA, SISTER!
His compromise is doing the dishes. I'm fine with that!
