The price of gas.

Over the summer gas peaked, in some places, at almost $5.00 a gallon. In California this July it was $4.80 and it cost over 90 dollars to fill our jeep, and that wasn't to completely fill it. Most gas stations capped at 75 dollars. There were those who said gas could top $200 a barrel and now they're saying it could bottom out to $50 dollars. At the beginning of Bush's presidency, it was at $34 dollars. Oil companies are cutting back oil production by a million barrels to help alleviate the drop. (fuckers)

Today, in Tacoma Washington, October 25th, you can find it for: $2.59.

I got a call tonight from a girl who was stuck in line at the gas station. $1.99, and the traffic was horrible. If I actually paid for gas*, I'd be enjoying this game of price limbo. How low... can you go?

* No, I don't have some endless supply. I just have no job so I avoid driving much.

I just filled up the truck today for less than $100 for the first time o.O Oh, and I finally got a car, just gotta get the insurance and shit sorted. Will be nice to spend $30 a week in gas instead of 100-120 >.<

Gratz on the car, Jet!
Still hasn't dropped below $2.15 that I can see...unless it went down overnight.

$1.99 on base. $1.89 at the ghetto gas station just outside the main gate.
Den 17 years ago
$1.89 is the lowest I've seen it around here too...(could be lower in our 'ghetto' but I don't go there lol)

AND...gas per barrel is now what it was in 2005, but gas then was about $1.49 a gallon, I believe. So why hasn't it dropped to that again?

Gas taxes maybe?

1.55 here in Dayton today, yesterday was 1.63 when I filled up. Some stores are reporting 1.43. My grocery store is still offering the 10 cents off credit too ^^ On the way home from columbus tonight, the station that was 1.55 this afternoon dropped to 1.52

I don't know why the price isn't stabilizing. Simple economics says that price should fall to meet demand. Why aren't we meeting demand yet?

$1.89 is the low here now.

Nothing about the sale of gas is simple or logical.

$1.89 on base now. Was 1.93 the day before, and then 2.04 the day before that. I wonder if it'll hit 1.50 here.

Well I aint ever buying gas from 7 Eleven again... normally buy from Chevron here, put 7/11 stuff in it and its fucked up the fuel pump. And THEN Guy tells me I'm really supposed to put the higher performance stuff in my car cos its a sports car...oh well, no one told me haha.
Lessa 17 years ago
out here all the gas stations have the same price for both regular and super or premium, no matter what the price of gas is.. strange..
ROzbeans 17 years ago
Unless it's a super duper sports car, I don't think it even really matters what type of gas you put in. If the fuel pump went, it was probably going to go no matter what you put in the tank. Don't let mechanics out here fuck with you, Jet.
