I never said it was definitely going to happen, just that it was very possible. Yeah, just like Hillary's health care plan crashed and burned, it also could have happened. The fact that it was being pushed for in the first place is my point. Tax and spend, redistribute the wealth. Give us your money and we'll take care of you because you don't know how to yourself. If that's what you want, then go you. That's your choice. I choose differently.

This is a joke, right? You have one person that wants to do something and you're saying that all "Democrats" and according to the article "Obama" want to take your 401k? Are you serious? Not to mention you read that out of US News.

This isn't going to happen. This is what we call giving the appearance of doing something in Washington. In times of upheaval, you can't do nothing, so someone is trying something.

This article is ridiculous and it is completely lacking in substance. It's a poor article based upon conjecture.

Honestly, stop stating "Democrats" in all your posts. It automatically tells anyone reading what you mean, and immediately makes some of your arguments bullshit because of your slant. You aren't being rational.

Ok. Some liberal economics professor has a really bad idea and he pitched that idea to democrats. So what? This is not an idea that will ever get passed. I would be very surprised if it was ever even drafted as a bill. Yeah, there are some radical left-wingers out there that probably think this is a good idea, but fortunately they are kept in check by the moderate majority. This link, and others like it, were getting passed around attempt to scare people out of voting for Obama. It's just like the rumors that he's a Muslim, or secretly a terrorist. I'm ashamed that so many Americans fall for such blatantly false propaganda.

Yeah, everything I say has a "slant" and is a joke. Tell me, where do you two get your completely unbiased, factual, inside truth of which you both seem to have a tremendous abundance? Neither I or the person that wrote the article said it was definitely going to come to pass, just that it was a consideration being made by, yes, Democrats (and for the record, I'm not a Democrat or a Republican, I'm registered independent...although I'm sure Gylius just KNEW I was a republican!!!!!). I never thought Obama was a Muslim (and unlike most people, wouldn't hold it against him if he was) nor do I think he is a terrorist. That article is not propoganda, it is fact. I'm not claiming to be freakin Nostrodamus and say OMG IT'S DEFINITELY GONNA HAPPEN, I'm just saying it could. That it is being looked at. And you didn't see this kinda idea from Republicans. I'm sorry if either of you are touchy about bad ideas coming from the Democratic party, I guess I can pick on Republicans too a bit if you like, although its kinda pointless right now since they have no power. Or I guess I could just kick back and bask in the glory of the financial markets now that the totally necessary $700billion (make that $850 after all the pork got added to it) econimcal bailout passed last month...

You're missing the point. An article can be both propaganda and truth at the same time. Is it true that a liberal economics professor pitched a bad, socialist idea to Congress. It's not a sign of the endtimes or impending economic ruin. It also doesn't mean that Obama is a socialist who is going to take away all your money and give it to welfare abusers. The guy that wrote the article was careful to spend very little time discussing how unlikely this is to ever occur, and lots of time talking about how horrible it would be if it did. He was trying to scare you, and he succeeded.
