Think I'd have time to set up the camera somewhere?

Its the fucking 2000s. We have fucking google. Take 20 fucking minutes to do a little scientific research - holy shit. I expect this from movies in the 80s, but not now. There were earthquake waves moving at about 30 MPH.

2012 is gonna be a fun movie.

K so theres an earthquake so powerful that it rips a hole in California, but they still managed to stand/walk/run whatever to a plane?! There's no fucking way you could stay on your feet when the ground is shaking like that.

But if I ignore the realism thing, it looks like it might be good disaster movie :)

hehe what timing, with three major earthquakes last week ><

The Mayan may have predicted the end of man kind, for real,

We'll see though, nobody knows until it happens.
Vulash 16 years ago
Maybe, but I'll promise it won't be by 30mph S-waves

In 1984 Bruce Lee was suppose to come back. I'm still waiting. /taps foot

It's my understanding their calendar just stopped. That is not the same as predicting the end of man.

Well that looks about 4000 times better than the doomsday movie out. lol

True, but a lot of people seem to think so. A lot of different cultures from different eras that didnt know each other came up with that same date some how.

Got a link? I've never heard that part, but its interesting.

That clip has like every single "close call escape" known to Movies in it.

I'm waiting til it's on DVD and even then I probably would only get it via Netflix.

"Day after Tomorrow" was a bit more realistic. And that's not saying much.

Im totally going to see this on opening weekend.

Death, mass destruction, end of days.....whats not to like man?!?
Lessa 16 years ago
meh, It was pretty out there.. lots of last second just in the nick of time scenes .. like.. lots. We went to go see it with my brother and sister in law after the funeral, just needed a break from all those people after the last few days of it. It was a nice break.. but as a movie i dont think Id have minded seeing something else and waiting for that one to com e out on dvd.

If you go to see it, and don't expect more than a disaster movie with pretty decent effects, and can suspend your need for logic, you should enjoy it. It's just mindless fun, and even though it was almost 3 hours long, I didn't think it was too long.

We're getting a large group to watch it for the bad science. We'll have to go on some week night so our laughing doesn't bother others :P

Don't worry, I think they'll have laughing in every showing. They did in ours too, and some was even intentional! lol

Decent, some laughs, some poignant scenes.
Some bad effects, most good ones.

I agree, the nick-of-time scrapes were old by the end of the first hour.

I just watched this and liked it. I give it about 7/10. I liked the human element in it...I think the human race will act just like that once this day comes...so imo they got that part down right.

A lot of what happened in it comes straight out of the normal 2012 lore and was pretty much spot on.
