I kind of suspect that they're going to let it die; I got the impression that no one was willing to step up and run things.

I signed up there some time ago and it was rather dead. I think maybe only a handful of people were there.

I am pretty sure it was down as of a few months ago, unless it was just a poor connection. I havent been able to get on there since the summer.

I think it went down for a while, then came back, but a lot of accounts were lost and it was a hassle/impossible to register again. Much like the hassle involved in putting up a sig or avatar for the past year or two.

They didn't have a Vex, was the problem *nods*.

Well they had...god what was his name. He's like Ass_Pope here. He was there tech, but I'm assuming that whoever holds the domain registration just isn't around to pay the money. =/

Oh god I remember how painful that was. And having to credit every single fucking detail of a 3d picture. Get a fucking life already, I bought the stuff and I certainly don't think it is necessary to require listing every component used. And I doubt they would have made someone list every component of their camera in the photography section. "let me see, I had a metal ring around a glass lens, which was made in China, and it was attached to ... " blah blah blah.

Oh yeah, the credits, I forgot that shit. Ugh yeah no...I was never a big poster there and that was such a turn off since half the time I'm just piddle farting around in Poser and forget half of what I do. If some one wants to know what I used all they gotta do is ask. I bought the shit it's mine mineminemineminefuckinmine!

LOL ok so that came over very ranty. It just used to be such a pet peeve of mine. Apparently, I am not completely over it!

And I haven't loaded EQ in over 2 years No urge to download it again and be a raiding rogue. I like my WoW rogue just fine.

I had a hard time with credits because many times I bought things and never labeled them in a way that would tell me just where exactly I purchased them -- that made it difficult for me to remember every piece I used. I did enjoy the chance to practice arting around with Studio MMO though and hope they get it back up and running now that life has allowed me the opportunity to try my hand and the funz again.

I have a hard time remembering my name most days, let alone the credits for stuff.

I thought the credit thing was ridiculous, but honestly I didn't take it seriously. By the time they said that, no one was posting art anyway. I just like to see credits so I can see what was used, but it's definitely not required here.

I'm surprised they haven't renewed the domain yet; either they haven't gotten a hold of the person who owns it yet or they just don't have the money. I heard a rumor that 400 bucks had been taken by Lleanna back in the day when she gave up her ownership, but who knows. A lot of money was donated to that place - I just wonder what happened to it all. /shrug

The changes over the years have been odd though, to say the least. I'll be the first to admit that I miss the ole days of NS when it was super popular and screenshot art was all super cool and new to me. Shoot, that was back in 200...2 or 3? All good things must come to an end, I guess.

Ha I tried to work with a screenshot recently and gave up...how the hell did I ever have the patience for that.

Awwww its too bad that Smooo went away. It got me back into gaming art, but the insane reference requests and the OMGS you cheater and not being able to blurt out the random FUCK!@@#!!! got really old really fast.
