Yea its healing - no idea whta happened. Between WV and PSU I started getting extreme pain, and by that evening I couldn't hear and the whole side of my head hurt. Eventually the pain went away (after a couple days) but it still felt like I had an earplug in and was ringing so I went to a doc - they said busted. I guess elevation changes plus sinus pressure, but its weird since I grew up in those hills, and currently live at 7000 feet in which I frequently drop to below 1000.

I am pretty late to this discussion! I went to see Avatar pretty soon after it opened. I found the 3d a little disconcerting...felt like my eyes were being pulled out...Den might be right, it might have been better if I had worn my glasses instead of contact lenses.

As to the plot ... been there done that...but who cares! It was visually stunning and loads of fun. When I walk out of the theater with a smile on my face, I figure that is a good movie!

A little off point...I am a bit tired of seeing "Avatar" art on Deviant Art LOL!

imax 3d is awesome. my first time seeing anything in 3D. it was quite a trip. spent like $60 on tickets and concession goodies. but well worth it. my eyes were SO TIRED afterwards though. i immediately crashed out when i got home. mike was all like 'what! hang out with me!" so i 'hung out' on the couch with my eyes closed for about an hour lol

the sound was really cool. like at first i thought people behind me were mimicking the sound, but no, its just all immersive. from video and audio.

mike and i are gonna take lil squirt to see 'how to tame a dragon' or whatever its called - in 3D. that movie looks cuuuuuuute.

DVD drops in May. COME ON DIRECTORS CUT AND NEKKID BLUE PEOPLE SECKS!

Finally saw this - not in 3d. On a very large TV with nice surround sound.

It was ok - I actually liked it, but it wasn't fantastic. I was solid. EXCEPT: There were just a couple of things that dropped this movie a notch for me, and they were fixable things so I don't understand why it was written this way.

1) Why was the main character a fucking moron at first? Hi, if I'm in a dangerous environment where everything wants to kill me (so I'm told) and I have a native girl debating whether or not to kill me or leave me - and finally takes me to her native - armed, dangerous, and hostile, village - I'm not going to KEEP TOUCHING EVERYTHING LIKE A SCHOOLKID and I"m NOT GOING TO TRY TO TOUCH THE FUCKING CHIEF

2) Unobtanium? Are you fucking serious? Almost any other sound ending in "ium" would have been better

3) Why the fuck did that mech have a rambo knife? It's a fucking mech how often does it end up in hand to hand combat in which a knife works? Maybe a saw or something encase it gets tangled, but a rambo knife? Did it have oversized mech matches hidden in the handle too? Why didn't they just have it pick up a limb or a piece of scrap metal?

Otherwise - I liked it. At first it was over the top pocahontas, but it got better towards the end.

They're releasing it in the theaters with 8 extra minutes, maybe of the Commander - Sam Worthington had no idea when asked, I guess.

This is a question I'd like to know the answer to.

It could be a mafia clue. I would also like to know for sure before I can give the movie a fair rating.
