EQ Shadowknight
I finally bought PD metal shaders..and just had to try them out. Of course I couldn't get them to look good even after hours of experiementing... so I said fuck it... and did the textures in C4D instead and was able to make PD metals look better than I could in Poser. :x

Looks awesome, but to be honest his bracers look almost leather. Still, I like it :thumbsup

and another version....tried messing with the texture of the bracer... I have no idea what the frig is up with the bracers.. they are the exact same texture used on the rest of the armor (basically copied/pasted).
I kinda like this version a little better. Maybe its the different light setup I used, or the bloody armor.
Screw it.. its late, I'm going to bed now. LOL

Definitely prefer the lighting on the second one, already gushed bout that on DA. Not sure why PD's shaders aren't working for ya in Poser tho, cuz I have no probs with 'em :(

Well I got to playing around with the pd shaders in poser again this morning... guess sleep and coffee helped, but I *think* I may have gotten them to look decent just in poser alone. I have the character rendering now so crossing fingers!
I love love LOVE the chainmail in this shader pack but OMG.. what a pain in the ass trying to scale it just right even just clicking the scale script the shaders come with. Cant be too big, can't make it too small or it just squishes... but I think I found a good size for it on the tunic skirt.

Hrmm well I think I might have figured out PD metals.. LOL Does this look less leather (bracer) than the previous?
Nothing done to the advance material settings other than some rescaling.

I really thought the sword was lovely before... but now that it is muted more I think it looks so much better. More realistic for a shadowknight to have a darker color without a whole lot of sparkle. Looks really good. :)
Are you putting the teeth back?

Yay! I'll use the poser render for the magelo then. And yes, the teeth will be added via postwork. I tried using the creature morphs on M4, but the teeth kept coming out too small and too close together and weren't as far apart as I wanted them..which I don't get because they come out fine if you use the freak. Go figure.

This looks really excellent (the first picture actually made me think of Dragon Age (a very good thing)). I like the way it looks now, but metal is usually very shiny. I'm not sure if you want to take that into account, or just a tip. But I, honestly, think it looks great with the specularity it has now!

I think its awesome as it is. As for metal being shiny, it isn't always if its battle-worn or corroded etc. I assume he is meant to be portrayed as a battle hardened warrior, so its natural his armour is going to have seen better days hehe.

He's an SK and constantly taking hit so I didn't really want super shiny clean armor. I was trying to go for that battle-worn, dented dirty looked. :)
Here's the magelo and he loved it.. :bounce

here is yet ANOTHER portrait version.. LOL I also gave this one to him as well.

Thanks ladies!! :hug
Now to start working on a warrior magelo for another guildie. He's an Iksar but thank God he runs around in Dark Elf illusion and wants to be a DE in the magelo!

Great work, Nianya. That's one of the best Ogre renders I've seen! Looks pretty true to the EQ model. =D
