dibs! This monkey is total street. If I saw him on my couch, I'd be afraid. 45 minutes including time spent yelling at kids to quit running in and out of the house

I dont really think thats art, you didnt make it, you just 'borrowed' it. If it were a photograph or artwork taken by anyone else, of anyone else most people here would be offended that the image was 'stolen'.

I also don't think this thread is the appropriate place for political oppinion or jokes. Its an art thread.

I apologize to everyone for not setting parameters. I should have defined the focus of our activity to keep it to it's proper spirit.

From here on out only original art by the poster and no commentary on any specific real person, even if it's a public person such as a celebrity or politician.

Now...back to art!

My picture wasn't an actual submission, and it wasn't intended as "art", a political joke, or opinion of any sort. It was just a reference to the plethora of "George Bush = Monkey" cartoons that were out there during his time as President. Honestly, when I read "evil monkey", that was the second thing that popped into my head (the first being a monkey dressed up like Rambo).

If it makes you feel any better, I would have voted for Bush both times, had my right to vote not been stripped from me by evil monkeys ;)

I do intend on actually submitting just a quick sketch, but the idea hasn't fully crystallized yet. Plus, I don't really know what monkeys look like (having not grown up in a zoo), so I've been looking at pictures of them on the internet to "study" :oops:

This is also not my actual submission, but fun nonetheless! Corporate takeover monkey is downsizing your department, starting with you. 2 minutes 12 seconds on a Wendy's napkin with an ultra-fine point Sharpie. And it looks more like a teddy bear.

Im not backing Bush, or offended by political jokes particularily, ( by now we should all be used to them, like him or not) I just dont think theyre appropriate for this thread. If it had gone to the Say Anything or any of the above forum threads I would prolly not have mentioned it.
