Hogwarts Mafia Round 3 - OOC Discussion

Ok first off. I think the tall references are bogus. I'm not sure why everyone is basing anything off height at this point.

Mafia clues I see from initial reading:

- Potions theme - victim had nothign to do with potions

- Potions "master" - The one mafia was clever enough to notice the distinction in the roots. I think this is a huge clue (the biggest in the thread) that one of the mafia is a potion expert.

- Potion book - they did indeed havea potion book with this more complicated potion recipe ** After rereading it doesn't say book. There is a parchment with instructions, but the person who comments on the p icture is across the room. Either they have a book too, or this should let us know it's someone good with potions that did NOT mention having a book

- 6 mafia - looks like I was wrong about 5 - there seem to be 6 after all

-"nicking" - this has been mentioned twice in completely different references. definately a clue, but what does it mean?

-"pale blue flowers" - Possibly a clue, someone's eyes maybe. Color clues seem to pop up alot in mafia - and not directly.

- a mirror - There didn't need to be a mirror in the scene, but there was. Doesn't someone carry one in their pack?

- she swept into the room - so many clean references or I wouldn't think this was a clue

- color is spelled colour. Naturally most are from England, but a few mention it specifically. Weak, but a possibility.

- 2 referrences to muscial things - mostly her voice, but we do have a musician bio if someone finds musical clues in the previous 2

- Here is another killer clue imo. her mouth hanging open wide enough to catch flies There was a previous toad reference, which seemed very weak, but this is a very very strange description for simple narrative. I think it's possibly another toad reference and supports the first weaker one.


Thats all I see. I haven't checked Bios yet to back anything up o rcome to any conclusions - I'll do one like this for the SK thread then do bios for each and cross reference. There is a constant mention of purple, but when I misread the violet/violent sneezes thing I checked for purple then and found nothing. Assuming the mods needed a color for description and picked a nuetral one.

I'm about 99% sure we lynched the sheriff based on the description. Anyone (especially a veteran) saying otherwise is trying to mislead.

The SK role is movable, but we'd most likely know, and there would have to be a good reason

SK stuffs. Not a whole lot here, but the cleaning and silent type clues are loaded and all through the scenario.



-More damn clean references - they are ALL over the SK thread

- The killer seems quiet, reflective - almost a "don't speak unless something good to say" approach, which a couple of bios have iirc. Perfect example “Clean it?”

- Alot of stuffs talks about memories. One bio has a memorandum (simon I think), but this could simply be because of the scenario and how it would have to play out with the possession. In fact I think this likely, but worth mentioning.

- The SK refuses to wear the amulet while it is dirty despite the CURSE that makes them want to really bad

- Perhaps this person is bad at potions? Marc sure thought so

Should also mention there were "smart ass" and "curt" dialog all through the mafia scenario

One more thing to point out. YOu guys are free to do whateve ryou want, but you are voting very early before half the people playing can even get home and respond (myself included). It does suck that even if I found almost sure fire evidence against someone it would be to late to do anything about it since half the votes are cast and people don't change theirs to often.

I think I mentioned this in the other thread, but that doesn't mean this isnt' a clue. Literally you are correct, but clues aren't always literal - and sometimes clues will be in a scene in sections that have nothing to do with the killer. I think of them as symbolic clues, but I'm sure someone else could define it better.

Vulash you are so mafia because I know I'm not. I've got a good chance of dying, either by lynch or by mafia if I manage to live.

I'm the doctor. Saved myself the first night, saved Elvaiz last night, although now I think he's mafia, along with Vulash AND blackrabbit. If there's a vet in mafia, which there has to be because jinheim is dead, it's either Vulash or BR. Both know if jinheim has the best possibility to sway votes and pick up the clues.

If BR was a townie, she'd be all over looking for clues, but she's not. She's very quiet and the one thing mafia does best is wait to see who the townies will hang and then follow.

I'm the doctor and if the sheriff is still alive, give me a jingle. If we managed to kill the sheriff, well then I'm dead either way.

Keep throwing heat my way though. There isn't a single clue that points to me which means I won't get lynched anytime soon - but as long as there is some heat and the possibility that the mafia could get the townies to kill me for them, I'm just a little bit safer from a hit.

Although that does confuse me over their choice of killing last night since Angelina was 2nd highest votes. A very strange choice for a mafia hit after a very good choice in Jinheim.

Although - I did explain that exact same strategy to blackrabbit last night...

The mafia know now if they try and hit me tonight, the possibility of me saving myself is pretty damn good. So they'd maybe wait till tomorrow night...but still, I might wait and save myself. Tonight they'll hit the most unlikely person.

Just a little clerification, nothing in my bio states that i have recently gone to hogsmead. it just states the location of the joke shop i did my shopping at

You can only save yourself one more time right? Just tell some people you'll save you tonight and others you'll wait a day and they'll have to wait 2 to be sure :D

I've -been- all over looking for clues. I've put out what I've found, but you'll have to forgive me if I'm not spamming the board with every little suggestion I have. I almost always wait until I have decent evidence on someone to accuse them of anything, and I've never played a game this big before. I still feel like we're just getting into it.

In addition, the fact that you got so damn defensive from day 1 didn't really lend itself you my approaching you with what -I- thought. You freaking scare me, you psychotic wench.

I haven't seen anything from you that defends YOU from being mafia. In fact, I see FAR more clues pointing to you than to me, and you're more of a vet than I am. The very things you want to single me out for, can easily be reflected back on you.

You're usually smart enough to come up with a better defense than "find better clues to lynch me with," in addition.
