There is no tactical advantage to revealing yourself as the doctor if you are the doctor unless there is a huge vulash maneuver going on - which there isn't.

History:

Simon could be described as the brooding melancholy kid who quietly makes his way through life with his hands in his pockets, but head held high. His quiet manner is often looked favorably upon by the girls in his classes but does not have many friends. Standing quite tall at 6'1, he has already begun growing into his man body and looking at him, you can see the man he'll be. Taller than he is now, quiet but in a position of power.

It would be safe to say that Simon didn't have any friends, other than his pet owl. He tends to blend into the shadows and only speaks when he has something to say, usually insightful and profound. He is liked by most everyone and his teachers respect him. He excels at quiddich as a keeper and in his studies, favoring transfiguration.

Simon was born in England and raised in a small village where his father was a policeman. He will more than likely return to his village and follow in his father's footsteps. Protecting seems natural to him and looks forward to what his future beholds.

Book on vampires, his wand, a flying manual (planes not brooms), a pack of Big Red, a picture of a pretty petite blond girl from his village and a remembrall.

You forget that Simon also voted to lynch the Sheriff. That is the lynchpin of my case and if I'm wrong, I deserve to die. That was the main subset I started out with. I did get an IM from Simon. The subject said "read my bio" and the text was "I'm the doctor." Like the mods are going to give us roles by type. I think simon is just counting on the number of new people in the game to save himself. Now is he mafia or just a lying townie?

Though I think the doctor save works for mafia kill and serial kill, not lynching.

History: Egon was always a studious bookworm of a child - worlds different from his jet-setting mother and...whomever his father was...he chooses to ignore his mother's claims on the subject. The talk around the campfire was that his mother Alysande Darvin was spending an awfully large amount of time with Gilderoy Lockheart near the time of his conception...enough that she gave him the last name of Locckheart to increase her own social standing, though the man never acknowledged "his" bastard, and Egon wouldn't accept it even if his father were not nuttier than peanut brittle. Shortening his name before entry into Hogwart's, Egon wanted nothing more than to progress past the entitled aspirations of his mother and escape the name of his supposed father, standing on his own two feet in the wizarding world. Dark, brooding, serious, studious Egon...never much of a hit with anyone, let alone the ladies...but fiercely competed for in any study groups. Never one to volunteer information, he always guides folks to understanding, rather than providing answers.

Specializing in the more obscure or less practical classes...arithmancy, ancient runes, occlumency (and some murmur legilimency) and the History of Magic, he never has a shortage of people willing to study with him. Of course, he is very selective, though none seem to see a pattern in whom he studies with - sometimes his rivals for the head of the class, other times the least likely students in a course. He spends little time socializing - he'd rather read, study or practice than most anything else, though he will also enter debates or conversations that have academic merit.

The whispers around the cauldron are that the Department of Mysteries has been courting him since he took his OWLs, though no one seems to know his scores.

Correct. Otherwise the doctor could potentially always win. Except for that "you can only save yourself twice," which I just found out about this game. Is that new? Or did I just miss it in the other games?

alright what i seeing is it the sk or the mafia thats the flyer well either or do you really think simon would be it shes got a book for planes not brooms how would you get a plane to kill someone there is no way to do that and EGON has a sneakoscope hes able to look at stuff in a sneaky way Egon could be in the mafia the mafia said he had ways of getting stuff when he stoll the port key simon would have no way of knowing thats a port key unless told of it i could see Egon being the mafia becuase hes got stuff that makes sence of it

A sneakoscope doesn't make you look at things in a sneaky way. It shows you if there are suspicious people around you. Carrying one hardly makes someone a sneaky person themselves; it means they're worried about sneaky people nearby.

Why are some people so defensive of Simon? I've never seen people defend someone as a townie this vehemetely unless they were indeed guilty.

Now - I can't decide on my vote (or couldn't) between Egon and Simon so I did a bit more reading and whatnot. The only clues against Egon are:

1) He is 6'1. There are only 3 people who are this tall, and that is the tallest height of anyone.
2) In his satchel is a sneak-o-scope. There are mentions of thiefly goings on inside the mafia to obtain the map and other items.
3) His bio mentions his taking the OWLs. There have been several mentions of owls in the mafia threads.
4) His bio describes him as dark, brooding and serious.
5) Day 2 Mafia Alex mentions Artithmancy specifically. The only other person to have this as a favorite subject is Egon.
6) Day 2 Mafia - water seems to be mentioned a couple of times for the owl and why it came back. A locke is a body of water....

Well -

1) Tall isn't a clue
2) Sneak-o-scope doesn't fit that clue. More likely lockpicks, a knife, or an animagus would fit the clues about sneaking into her office
3) Owls were apossible clue, but a weak one and fits a ton of people
4) I haven't seen this as a clue
5) This is a good clue
6) Not a clue at all

I see one clue, yet he has like 6 votes. A few of those votes are no doubt townies confused, but I really see this now as a coverup given all the recent vehement defensiveness of Simon. With that in light I have to vote Simon, and can't understand the Egon votes.

Even if you don't think Simon is guilty, there are about 8 other people that have MORE clues then Egon has pointing at them.

it allows you to see people near you yes i know but don't you see if Egon used it to see if anyone was around so if he was in the clearing so he could break in and steal the port key it would make perfect sence to have one and steel stuff with it how can you not see that? and still how ould simon fly a plane to kill someone if she is in the mafia or sk who ever the flyer is? BR you sound more like in the mafia you are in Quiditch you have a Beater stick you could kill people with that Stick and being in Quiditch you gotta be a good flyer

Point of Order, Angelina is the one who was lynched, right? And that was the sheriff. I'll be the first to admit being confused between Alison and Angelina. I haven't seen you accused by someone every day for three days, either, which was my second thing. The tallness and aloofness are merely the same level of proof we lynched the person on yesterday.

you would be more of a mafia becuase you are in quiditch. you are a beater in quiditch. you have to be a good flyer in quiditch.

Simon on the other hand is a transfiguration guy not a flyer hes a has book on PLANES not brooms. if simon was the mafia how would he steel anything like the port key with out anyone seeing him

Egon has a sneakoscope. he is able to see people around him. he could use a spell to unlock the door. like in harry potter movie one harmione used the unlocking spell. now if he had anything to do with being in the mafia don't you think he would have an advatage with his sneakoscope.
