Back when I first got mine the ball came loose and I swallowed the bar. I never saw it again, but had no problems.

I always thought they looked cool but I have had enough problems with the piercings I have to make me not want to try that one. A friend used to clack her's back and forth against her teeth while she was thinking. Used to drive a fellow employee completely batty.

I had the little ball come loose a few times from rubbing against the roof of my mouth, but I switched it around so it screws shut from the bottom now, never had a problem again since. I've accidently bitten down on it a few times. Happened a lot in that first two weeks when they give you the extra long barbell for the swelling. Nothing chipped or cracked though.

Well, I did chip a molar once, but that was on a mint and therefore unrelated.

My husband was gonna get one when I got my first tattoo but they told him he was too tongue tied and that if he did it eventually it would split his tongue in the middle.

I think men with tongue piercings is the hottest fricking thing ever though. Something...I don't know...dirty!
