Get Your Nostradamus On! (presidential predictions)
Without turning this into a political flame-war, who do you think is going to ultimately win this election?
No electioneering, or politikin' please, just a prediction!

I'm not sure who will win, but it is damn close. I think it would be interesting if it comes down to the 269
69 tie. I'm pulling for Kerry though.

I think Mayor McCheese is going to take Ohio and give Bush the election.

Well, I do remember the Daily show referring to Nader as "Vote-waster McLection-Ruiner," are you referring to Nader as "McCheese?"

Haha! I hadn't heard that one.
I honestly have no idea. I voted, and did so based on research. That, and a careful analysis of the masonic hand-gestures and code words used by the candidates in an effort to communicate with we enlightened ones the secrets of our alien creators.
Or something.
I think Bush WILL win...do I WANT him too??? A mystery for the ages!

i dont like either of them, but for some reason i did not feel moved by any of Kerry's attempts to gain voters.
i hate bush, but he seems like the better idiot. maybe its because i already know what he's like. and i know what to expect.
if anything, im democrat at heart, but Kerry just makes me feel weird.
i didnt vote, nor ever will unless sadam tries to run for presidency.. :P

No man, I'm right there with you. But as I don't want to whip out the flamethrower, I'll not make any responses other than to say I'm glad the election is over.

Wow...looks like it IS possible to DISCUSS politics here and not get flamed to hell.
That is truly awe inspiring, and I thank you all for that.
Anyway, I think the "most retarded thing I ever heard" in MY life is "The War on Drugs".
It is the longest and most expensive war our country has ever fought. It has no end in sight, and no tangible results. Some would say the record number of arrests in past years for drug offenses IS the result.
I would reply to that with..You could make it against the law to breathe and lock a whole lot more people up. This however, would not solve the "breathing epidemic" that would most assuredly arise.
I was sad to see very little (read: none) talk about plans to help our country move away from such a destructive and inefficient policy. I'd like to see currently illegal drugs become decriminalized. Not "legalized", but ....we give people higher sentences for marijuana possession or distribution than we do for manslaughter and in some cases even murder or rape. Someone shoots some heroin...yes they should be rehabilitated and perhaps even removed from society until they are... but not locked in a jail where heroin is often found to be distributed anyway, and not for more time than the guy who raped and murdered his mother.
I only bring this up because the so-called war on drugs consumes so much of every other government resource such as the economy, education, foreign policy, legislative decisions and the general well being of our country.
They aim to mislead you into believing that buying drugs is supporting terrorism...they neglect to mention that buying imported coffee, diamonds, tobacco and alcohol, and even purebred foreign animals each contribute more to the terrorist's funds than drugs like marijuana or even cocaine and opium ever will.
I only mention THIS to illustrate that they ARE misleading you (by "you" I mean those who are easily manipulated) and no one can be "saved" through deception. We need real education. We need elementary school trips to the hospital to visit Mr. Cracky McCrackhead and Ms. Hoes Fordope.
I have rambled on long enough.

I agree that the war on drugs is stupid. If people want to self destruct on drugs, I say let them. I saw something on the news during the election coverage saying that Alaska is trying to decriminalize marijuana.
