Day Three /ooc chat

I'm gonna go with the flow on this one, as I have a house full o'kids and no time to deal with much tonight...

Suffice to say that I suspected Cookie early on and some folks and I discussed it. Personally, I don't think we are headed in the right direction ATM.

However, I think the clue really points more at Jet than Cookie. Either way, I figure we are probably ridding the world of a killer.

There is still the issue of a certain nurse as a mafia member, and I think the SK has yet to be pointed at other than in PMs...

Don't hate the game. =( Kind of makes it hard to read that when we go through a lot to make these games happen. =/

i am no good at this cloak and dagger stuff and it just blows my mind sometimes that people could enjoy it so much. don't get me wrong I LOVE the scenes and all the writing.. the effort that goes into these shows!!! It just amazes me that I seem to be the only one who finds it frustrating, exasperating, confusing and saddening at times. I am a trusting person by nature so the whole concept of lying and deceit and subterfuge and all that is just foreign to me *shrug* Maybe I whine since I don't play the game well =)

but it is fun... until you get where you know things are going the wrong way and it's like watching a train wreck knowing what will happen and being powerless to stop it.

i appreciate the amount of time and energy spent putting these games together for us, even when i dont play :P

and i really enjoy all the backstabbing, lying, manipulating, etc that goes on, probably BECAUSE it is so foreign to me. i despise liars

I am having a grand time even if my innocence is being denied by a few. Its exciting. heheh I was confused that the clues were different than I was expecting. I was thinking sherock holms kind of stuff with evidence in walk, talk, objects. This has phrasing of quotes at the top and colors used in a description that go with eyes and wow, I am still missing lots of that stuff but having fun reading all of you all finding these seemingly random things that point to someone's something in their bio. Its cool.

I think I want to look more at the potential drug users for the needle clue though. Isn't there a hypocratic oath? wait I think that is doctors. hmmm

Well VW honestly it depends on the mods as to what kind of clues they are. Some do more symbolic references back to bios and some do more of the sherlock holmes type of clues. I'd about guarantee that 80% of the "clues" you've seen posted in these OOC threads aren't really cluse at all. Some are just details in the story that got taken out of context, some are red herrings, and some are fake things made up by the mafia and/or sk to frame innocent people.

The game can be frustrating, but overall I find it very rewarding. I'm extremely honest in real life, and I surround myself with honest people - I rarely get to explore my devious manipulating side, and this game lets me do that in the context that everyone knows and accepts that is what is happening. The key is to expect it of people, partake yourself, and then you can not be upset when; you get totally fooled (which WILL happen). Also you can't get too prideful either because there is a certain luck element involved as well. I usually play a very boastful loud postsaton personality when we play that gets on somes nerves, but it alllows me to do alot with it for this type of setting to manipulate people, and to entice voting in the direction that I want. How I come across when we play is not how I really am - I had to adapt a different style that would allow me to be far more forceful and confident (even when I'm not) so that people vote how I want.

Should also add that playing the cocky bastard is fun for me because i'm not really - I just joke around a lot about it because I find it humorous

We are very glad you are enjoying it, VW. Vulash has the right of it. Its a game and its not for everyone but if you like this sort of thing then you'll probably find it very engaging...at least we mods try to make do our best to help that along. The players though are what make or break any mafia game. So thanks to all of you playing.

I'm enjoying it too, even when you all wanted to lynch me! Thisis my first ever mafia game, and I'm crap at investigating and solving puzzles n stuff, but its still fun non the less. It's just a game

The game is great and the Mods do wonderful work. Stop thanking us for playing, when it's us who get to indulge in these escapes thanks to your hard work and creative efforts...

I think most of us understand that being creative can sometimes be work, especially when you have kids, career, etc... (Of course, it can be a great stress reliever from the above as well...)

Let me state for everyone here... I hate the "game" not the game. The backstabbing, manipulation, secret keeping and such that are involved with playing the game well. It's just not who I am anymore.

I appologized to Veri and Mai privately and I hope they understood how I meant that statement, but I want y'all to, too. I do everything to win, not to play. It's a character flaw and I know about it. Normally it's controllable but with the stress of my upcoming trip, new job, wraping this one, and getting everything done and prepped and dealing with having to tackle my phobias (fear of heights/flying, being alone, change.. you name it) my stress levels are through the roof and I put a lot of pressure on myself to try and do a good job here for my fellow townies since after all I am playing to win.. and I made the mistake of snapping publicly at y'all. So, I appologize to everyone. Please don't take what I said to mean the game Mafia isn't fantabulous and run well. I enjoy the hell out of it.. when I think I'm winning.

There is a reason no one in my family will play a board game with me. Well, without making me promise not to be a sore loser first

Having sat back and watched Mai run one of these, kind of from the mod side (no, she wasn't telling me who was who or anything like that - i just could not grasp how this thing worked but wanted to do it so she explained the last one as it went - course she first made me swear that i'd play the next one!!) I know full well how much effort is put into each step of the story. So I will add my thanks to the rest for a the ton of entertainment that is provided! and lots and lots ands lots of huggles!!!
