Federal got off - meaning Jello and Mike. I gave Ashley a day off and I'm taking Friday off to burn some hours. Next week they expect us to be open on Friday.

My husband managed to slyly get off work today. He was supposed to go in, but managed to find lowbies to go in for him. After the weekend he had, he was tired of seeing the damn base.

For Thanksgiving this year, we'll be going over to my best friend's house. I think her dad is cooking ribs this year since her husband is deployed. I'll probably make some dish, who knows. Hopefully I haven't popped by then.

Oh...and on the preggo front...internal exams FUCKING HURT! Yet, apparently I'm like no where near popping stage. We'll see if that's changed when I go in on Thursday.

Did they check your cervix? That's gotta be the rudest thing ever. Beware if they say, 'oh let me scrape your membranes, that'll help labor.' Oh yeah it will - and make you pass some mucusy blood and freak you the fuck out, starting your labor enough for them to put you on pitosin and ruin your day until they give you the fucking epidural.

The docs are saying probably 2 months and 2 weeks - I should pop around 38 weeks =)

Yup. I went in due to an absessed tooth from hell. They wanted to check me out to clear me before I went to the ER. I was apparently having contractions, but with little regularity, so they wanted to check to see if I was dilated. (*$)(#*$#)$

You guys are military right? With Catherine they checked my cervix at every friggin single check up and I was complicated OB so that was damn near every week towards the end. I look at someone funny they'd check my cervix =( They haven't even done that once yet but I'm only 27 weeks today.

Thankfully, they refer all preggos off base due to how small the women's clinic on base is. And with the crap we go thru with Patrick AFB medical, I'm glad we don't go see them.

Case in point - this week YET AGAIN our PCM was transfered and no one let us know. Not to mention, they've also re-assigned us to who we had first. It's an AF doc who refuses to listen to people. Hell, she was on call the weekend I was having an allergic reaction to keflex, and she told me she couldn't do a thing for me without seeing me. And basically cut me off with anything I tried to say. It's getting so bad that my husband is going to have to go to sick call tomorrow just to get blood work done because they won't let his Navy command's doctor just put in the blood work, and there are no available appointments until Jan.

I'm no woman, but when Stephanie's doctor came in to introduce himself the day after we were admitted, the first thing I looked at was this guys hands. He had huge sausage fingers. I told Steph, "Uh oh, he has huge fingers. Hope he doesn't have to check you anytime soon." She said, "Oh great..."

I had a real shitty doctor who was stupid enough to leave the office door open when he consulted with the head of COB about me. I heard them, as clear as day, talking about how my high blood sugars was going to give me a two headed baby.

And then I heard them laughing.

That asshole tried to tell me he was going to deliver my baby the first time they tried inducing me at 37 weeks. I told that fucker he was absolutely not going to touch me or my baby.

'But Mrs. Hartmann...I thought we were over this.'

'I'm gonna have to say that it looks like we're not.'

He ended up insulting my baby one more time before discharging me for another 1 1/2 weeks. Fucking Madigan hospital. I was 25 and scared but they're lucky - if one of them tried to pull that shit on me now, they'd have to call security to come get my foot out of their ass.

We've had to go to war with some of the idiots here at Patrick AFB. They've told me I couldn't make my husband's appointments, as well as that I couldn't do other things that my husband had given permission for me to do. One nurse caused hell one to many times, and ended up basically insulting me. The downside (and a plus at times) is that some of the AF nurses there have NO clue about Navy ranking structure.

Needless to say, the next day my husband showed up in his working whites and asked to talk to the first shirt. She changed her tune quickly when she realized that my husband was an E6 and knew more about AF rank structure than she knew about Navy. There have been so many issues with this clinic that the Navy high ups have had sit downs with the AF high ups. It's a huge mess.

OH... and here is one more for ya about idiot's at hospitals...

We get me to the hospital the other day and I'm clearly in pain. (It felt like you were stabbing my left cheek.) The registration lady INSISTED that I HAD to do my pre-registration before L&D would acknowledge me. I tell her, that I didn't have to two weeks ago when I fell. She still insisted. Thankfully Ryan took the clip board and filled out the paperwork for me.

Then we have to wait. Then they give us the one registration clerk that has NEVER done this before. She has to call over people to help, and doesn't even check the computer half the time before thinking she needs to do something. Finally someone who knows what they are doing comes and helps. By the time we were out of there I was light headed and Ryan was pissed off to no end.

Thank god for free military health care!

Man, you guys are making me appreciate the experience I had when I had Gypsy lol I had some shit to deal with, but our AF hospital was up at the AF Academy and everyone there was cool. For most of my baby stuff, we were sent down to this actual birthing center that was really nice. AF kept offices there, and worked there, but it wasn't actually part of the AF at all, so you had lots of civilian docs and nurses around, too. My only complaint with that place, was the fact that when I came in for them to induce my labor, we had this big huge ass room with a huge bathroom and tub and room for Kevin to really pace around. After delivery? Room barely big enough for my bed and his lil pull out sofa, and a bathroom you could barely turn around in. But it was still nice, and the nurses were awesome, so I forgave them that one small transgression.

On the internal/cervix exam front.... fucking hated that too! Always felt like someone was walking around up in there the way they poked and prodded :(

They still haven't started on our roof yet.

Rain Monday and last night, and severe fog and dampness today...
I hope it's finished by Thanksgiving. They're contracted to be done by the 20th.

so this guy in my guild is asking me about doing some sigs for him and his wife, I agree and tell him what I need and ask him what he wants. He tells me and tells me that he had done one for himself once hes just not so good at drawing anymore, out of practice or something. He offers to show me a piece he had done.

The piece looks really well proportioned, very cool drawing though it looked like he had added some effects or something to it blur and contrast or something, I dont know, it wasnt really clear, but still nicely done. And later I am going through other peoples images on da looking for a reference to a character that the Nial guy tells me he had in mind as a similar character to his own, I find the same image, done perfectly by some other girl.

So.. do I call this guy out telling him he stole art and its not good, do i tell the girl this guy took her image and altered it, or do i leave it be and not say anything since he doesnt use it anymore and is looking to buy from me?
