Say Anything.

'Say Anything' is a John Cusak/Cameron Crowe 1989 teen flick. ' A noble underachiever and a beautiful valedictorian fall in love the summer before she goes off to college.' This is actually not what this thread is about, but the message is the same.

Actually no it isn't, I just like imdb.com and the title sounded interesting. /snort

This is not necessarily a vent thread - far from it. This is about saying anything - weather, the bird outside your work window, the fundamental differences between Mormons and catholics, how Law and Order Criminal Intent doesn't get the props it deserves, that I always forget whether it's 'it's' or 'its', that my daughter has a beautiful smile and the first guy that breaks her heart - I'm breaking his knees...it's about anything.

So, say anything.

On a totally unrelated note, I am leaving the country in June.

Leaving-leaving, or just leaving?

This head-nose-throat-chest cold shit that's going around sucks major monkey and elephant nuts. I can't talk :(
Which sucks, because my job depends on me being able to.

Leaving? For where?

I thought I had vanquished the dog from the bed for good! The last 3 nights he's been sleeping on the floor for most of the night and when he gets on the bed he mostly listens to when we tell him to get down. I have to bust out my mean mommy voice to get him to move sometimes though. Now he's sleeping on the bed :(

......and he's snoring.

Taking a business trip to a certain archipelago in the Asian Pacific. Unsure of the duration, but seeing as I don't have to worry about getting approval from an unreasonable boss, I can feasibly stay for months if necessary.

No, scratch that. Seeing as I am a dual citizen, I can feasibly stay indefinitely.

But I won't.

Grrr I go to buy something from PoserPros and I've never used a credit card before so I wasn't sure how they like to have the info put in...after a few tries it blocked me from trying again. Damn it!

...God I'm a retard before coffee. I didn't even have to put in our address or anything like that just the damn card number and expiration date. Way to go dumb ass!

Living here in Maine, you'd think people would realize it snows here, snow is slippery, and you should slow down in your car when it snows and the roads will be SLIPPERY!! I drive a little less than 10 miles on the highway from home to work, and in that space of time there were two accidents. Now, it's not necessarily the accidents that bug me, it's the retards BEFORE the accident that feel the need to drive RIGHT ON UP to the flashing lights of the police cars (that you can see for miles back) and then decide they have to come over, slowing up the people in the sensible lane as they try to squish their way in... and then the OTHER retards after the accident, caused by slippery snowy roads, that go FLYING down the road as tho it's July at noon. *sigh* Okay, now that I've got that out I feel a little better.

Still trying to type a lot to drown out my boss' typing. I swear she types louder when I'm typing... Not to mention I know perfectly well that she's not typing about work, considering she's a GIGANTIC democrat and the caucuses are coming up. Not to mention I've peeked in to talk to her while she's been typing and saw ;)

So I was price checking tablets last night and I go to a website and I get one of those pop ups saying the security certificate had expired, blahblah, I said yes then all hell broke out. Needless to say I now have many viruses on my gd computer. Erik is freaking out because I used his credit card to buy a tablet since I didn't know there were a shit ton of viruses on my computer. Apparently my OS is infected....if I have to reinstall Vista I'm gonna cry. So I downloaded Avast and it's trying to fix stuff. :(

Fucking Murphy, how I hate you so! Just start getting the finances back in line, everything getting paid on time, decent bonus and taxes coming soon even.... and now of course -something- had to go wrong. Water heater decided its 10 years are up and died today... water leaking everywhere all over the floor which is luckily cement under the tiles at least... Over a grand to have replaced :( There goes a nice chunk of taxes, or hopefully maybe just the bonus with any luck *snorts* yeah luck, right...

*hugs* I hear you Eve...last November we had a pipe break, and our water heater go out, and unfortunately we're on a raised foundation. The water from the pipe sprayed all over the sub-flooring underneath, which caused much of the new laminate flooring we just had installed in August to warp. Plus the flooring in my bathroom looks like roller coaster tracks! All th plumbing had to be redone, and then all the places where they tore into the drywall had to be patched and painted. Today they're just starting to replace all the flooring in our house...again. *sigh* The plumbing alone cost nearly $8k to replace, including the water heater. The rest is covered by our homeowner insurance, after the $1k deductible :P

I've come to the conclusion...as long as you own a car, and/or a home, you can expect to pay out a few hundred, minimum, every few months or so. Just a way of life :S

Oh, and then there is always the unexpected health crisis to count on when everything else seems to be going fine.

*sigh*

Renters insurance for the win, too. Just because you're renting, doesn't mean the neighboring apartment won't catch on fire and cause damage to your place. We had that happen to some friends of ours - 16 apartments were fire/water damaged and only our friends had renters insurance.

Beware!
Lolanae 18 years ago
That happened when we had lightning strike the appartment. We came out the luckiest, only loosing a laptop, cable box, modem and router.

A lot of folks didn't have insurance.

Woowoo my tablet is supposed to be here today. Now if I only knew some one to tell me how to use it! I guess I should clean off the desk so there's room for it.
Den 18 years ago
Good luck with it! Seriously... I bought one about a year ago, and still haven't figured out how to use it well enough to use much.
Laschae 18 years ago
I told Erik last night from now on he will have to listen to me bitch about not being able to use the damn thing! I tried to find some tutorials for it but none of them were what I had in mind so it will just be trial and error.

The problem I have is I'm used to drawing on paper, and seeing what appears under my hand. The problem I have with the pad is in making the transition between looking at the pad, and needing to watch the monitor, and that's kinda crazy too, because when I draw with the mouse I do that just fine.

I think if I would make myself use it more, I would eventually get used to it, like I did with the mouse. Unfortunately I just haven't pushed myself to do that.
Laschae 18 years ago
Yea I bought a generic tablet about 3 years ago and I had the same problems but I am determined to force myself into learning at the very least to draw and look at the monitor not my hand! I think once I can get over the natural instinct to look at my hand that the rest will be easier.
