Say Anything.

'Say Anything' is a John Cusak/Cameron Crowe 1989 teen flick. ' A noble underachiever and a beautiful valedictorian fall in love the summer before she goes off to college.' This is actually not what this thread is about, but the message is the same.

Actually no it isn't, I just like imdb.com and the title sounded interesting. /snort

This is not necessarily a vent thread - far from it. This is about saying anything - weather, the bird outside your work window, the fundamental differences between Mormons and catholics, how Law and Order Criminal Intent doesn't get the props it deserves, that I always forget whether it's 'it's' or 'its', that my daughter has a beautiful smile and the first guy that breaks her heart - I'm breaking his knees...it's about anything.

So, say anything.

Getting the flu the day before I'm supposed to go to a wedding really really sucks.

Especially when its a date with a hot, new girlfriend...:rofl

What the fuck is the point of getting shirts and pants and suit dry cleaned if you leave the shirts hanging in a room where three smokers congregate?

Even wrapped in plastic!!!

And no, it wasn't my fault, because I was asleep from 2 to about 8pm, when I took meds, then til 11.

*beats head on desk repeatedly*

I'm supposed to go visit a few girls this week that I haven't seen since January. As of this morning, I appear to finally be catching whatever it is that my parents have been coughing and sneezing all over the place for the past week.

Timing. I don't have it.

I went to the wedding and survived that, but the food really threw me for a loop the next day, and I swung back from "feeling decent but not stellar" to "mack truck paste".

I took a half day / late entry at work.

And as much as I appreciate and endorse equal opportunity employment, if I have to spend 7 minutes helping someone spell a web address because they supposedly don't have email and want to use our software "light now as in this night"... they need a few more minutes with an ESL teacher.
Seriously.

Just had my first dose of Chloraseptic since I was a teenager. I didn't remember it being 5 sprays, and how the hell are you supposed to aim it at your throat with such a wide spray angle? It was practically inside my mouth and I was still getting misted in the eyes.

I'd forgotten how much I dislike the fuzzy tongue feeling.

i thought i was the only one who didn;t like that!

Turn your head sideways and press the bottle up against the edge of your mouth, maybe?

I was trying to remember how my mom used to dispense it to us and she often did it when we were laying down, so that would be the best translation.

I'd sell my soul for 8 hours uninterrupted sleep right now.

Try that ambient sleeping pill. /whistles - that thing works WONDERS or try tylenol PM, its non-addictive and handy =)

I love my Tylenol PMs but man do I have weird dreams when I take them... tend to be rather groggy some mornings after too.
ROzbeans 18 years ago
Yeah same with Mike when he takes them. You really do need your full 8 hrs.

Anyone ever look into RestAid?
http://www.restaid.com/

It sounds promising, but all I've ever seen is marketing propaganda, so who knows...

I'm shying away from my usual "can't sleep" meds because i'm having to run on 4 hours sleep lately. Overtime is being demanded at work :(

PFFT! I've been with USAA since 1993 - that's friggin 15 years and they won't give me a lower than 8.99% interest rate on a $1500 balance transfer. What the fuck, over?! Fucking recession. =(
Den 18 years ago
Yea...USAA is a great company, but they've had to make a lot of cuts in employment over the past couple years, and have done a lot of restructuring. I still have several friends who work there, and the days of $10k bonuses are long gone.

OMG I freakin' won tickets to see the Jonas Brothers!!! :D :D :D

Now.... in my own defense, I am NOT excited to have to go and see them (and thousands of shrieking pre-teens), my daughter had wanted to go SOOOOOO bad, and I just could NOT afford them. She was disappointed but was SO mature about it, didn't whine and tantrum, even after her best friend got tickets. So when I heard about this contest on the local radio station I decided I'd sign up and hope. I had actually forgotten about it until I got a call this morning on my cellphone from the DJs and I freaked. AND they put it on the radio LOL.

*sigh* :hb This is killing me to have to sit here at work and wait 'til I get home to tell her. I figure I'll just hand her the tickets and grab my camera :D

And yep, I really do talk like that IRL, with capitals and smilies and such
