I'm rather fond of Claire Danes...

...I was just the right age and angst level for My So-called Life . At any rate, I think this'll be a winner.

You know this movie was simply wonderful. I saw it this weekend and all I can say is what a perfect way to tell a story. The cast was very strong, the scene rich with details and yet it leaned to the story and not distract you. The Story it self was simply but because of the characters and sub-plots it really just made it connect and made the characters that more enticing. Pfiefer was excellent as the witch and it was such a twist from when I first saw her in Lady Hawk when I was little. *swoons* Yup I have to buy this movie when it comes out for sure!

I agree with Twilightfenix. I saw this a couple weekends ago and LOVED it. There was a lot of humor in it, that I didn't expect, but which made it just that much more enjoyable. Pfieffer was good, but so was DeNiro, and I'm really not a huge fan of his. Clare Danes was gorgeous, but then all the actors seemed perfect in their parts. I recommend this to all.

see i didnt want to see it when i saw the trailers, looked alot like a made for tv type of movie somehow.. now I may have to watch it..

*nudge* It's totally worth seeing!

And side note: for once a trailer that doesn't tell you the whole bloody story up front

We really enjoyed this one. Yes, its a fantasy love story but there are lots of little details and SUCH acting. Its really wonderful! <3

This is something we'll acutally buy on DVD.

I'm definitely getting it on DVD...a lot of it reminds me of Princess Bride - not the story, but the atmosphere, and the way it was made. I loved it

I hope it stays in the theaters long enough for me to see it on the big screen :\.

My daughter and I are supposed to go see it the day before her first day of school; can't wait!!

A little late, but I watched this movie tonight and just wanted to add my somewhat superfluous two cents by saying "It's really good". It definitely has somewhat of a "Princess Bride" feel, but in many ways, I thought it was better. Less, uh, "immature" comedy, and a richer story. And obviously with the advances in technology since The Princess Bride, in regards to special effects, and with more expansive-seeming scenery (think "filmed on a football-field-sized movie studio lot" vs "filmed out in the middle of some Scotland and Iceland countryside and some historical British villages") it seems like a much higher-budget and well-produced film, regardless of whether or not it actually was. Plus - Mark Strong! Rawr! I love that dude!

I liked this, too. And yes it had Mark Strong in it, but it was missing THE CLIFFS OF INSANITY!!

The book was pretty charming too. Neil Gaiman is delightful .

WE MUST BE THE SAME AGE close enough anyways. Claire Daines from My So Called Life was super cute
