Round 4 /OOC

Thou Shalt Discuss the Kill!

Jinheim 15 years ago
Roz stated that we'll have to wait until tomorrow to find out whether or not we successfully killed the SK. Usually you find out right away because you go straight to a 1 day per round system, but I guess they are doing things differently this game. So, I wouldn't rule out the possibility that we got the SK just yet.

As for Pharren: I don't think he was mafia. I am pretty sure he was the sheriff and that the SK did the mafia's job for them.

He stated that he saw no clue's pointing to Zeke (EVEN THOIUGH TWELVE PEOPLE DID!). But instead chose to vote for me because "Steallth was involved". I have read the kill over and over, no mention of stealth occurs!!!

Like I said earlier which you seemed to ignore... I voted before any of the clues pointing at Ezekial were posted. So this "12 people voted for Ezek, but Eduardo didn't" thing is rubbish. At the time of my voting, there was one other vote, and that was for me.

1) I'm not whining. I just mentioning it whenever you act suspiciously.
2) I never said I wasn't in communication with Ezek. Midway through round 3 (not earlier) we were talking to each other since we were both being accused of being mafia and since we were being accused of communicating anyways it did seem to matter anymore if we did, so it made kind of sense. "In cahoots" is probably a bit strong since I don't doubt we would have immediately turned on each other if it looked bad for either one of us
3) Stop implying that there's been no evidence against you. There's been plenty. If you really want me to, I'll type up a nice big juicy damning post.

So, the dirt on Splaz so far...

  • 4'7" and 108 lbs - big enough to be forceful

  • Younger and male - fitting the holding hands thing

  • Trained in standing very, very still indeed (fits all stealth references, and times when the serial killer seems to appear from no-where)

  • Found abandoned as a baby on Christmas morning (Jesus reference - The Good Shepherd)

  • Experience using toys and appliances as escape tools - exactly the sort of person who'd make a noose from socks for example.

  • Training in lock-picking - the word "lock" stood out in one of the kills

  • When Michael was killed, the SK says "A solo artist" - this could be tied to Splaz having been found by an "entertainer".

  • Jack "Jack the Lad" Sheppard was a notorious robber, who was renowned for his escapes.... Just like how Splaz escaped but was repeatedly caught, so was Jack the Lad. Linky
Note the spelling of that last shepherd clue. The fact that the SK calls himself "Sheppard" is not a mis-spelling of the word shepherd but a deliberate reference to the notorious criminal.

And those are just the physical clues, not including behavioural clues like...

  • Passing himself off as a noob (how do I see all the threads?!?). Given that Nick is 1) a computer programmer, 2) familiar with internet forums and 3) not new to this game... this is a stretch especially considering there's an announcement right at the top of the page which says "Can't see everything? Select show posts from the beginning"... then it turns out that he's used this tactic before when playing mafia in a previous game ... " (also I have tried to play the "I'm new to all of this" card. asking if the rules allow for Carly to kill others in her mafia group to deflect attention. Hehe"
I'm sure there's probably more, but that'll do for now.

My $0.02:
From Nick's bio:
Although always re-captured and taken back to the orphanage (screaming and kicking with snot bubbles forming at the nose, like crying children do)

Kill 3 : And so his fists and his feet flew in the air as the life was dragged out of him.

Kill 2: Finally the blood burst from her veins on her arms and legs and it floated out in zero gravity like soapy bubbles as her rigid body began to move outside the Battle School.

Like I said, 2 cents.

Oh, here's another thing:

Splazmonnotroid was found abandoned as a baby on Christamas morn, in a small paddle boat, adrift the lake in Retiro Park, Madrid.

And the day 2 hit was titled "Slowly drifting".

...and those would appear to be the last words of ABAY.
Den 15 years ago
OMG! I can't believe that bastard is still alive!!! LOL

Wow...I'm speechless...and have no idea how it couldn't have been EZ. Sorry EZ...I really did think it was you.

Back to the drawing board.
Blackrabbit 15 years ago
Eh, ditto that. Apologies. I shoulda known better than to think I actually had the SK figured out, lol. I never do.

I would like to draw all your attention to posts #44, #45, and #46

lol -- the ones right above these? aren't we reading and reacting fast enough for ya? lol

I'm definitely going to be taking that information into consideration, as well as everything else we've been posting over the past few days. I've missed a lot apparently, and need to find out how I did that.
CaptainBinky 15 years ago
heh heh heh... I just didn't want them to fall off the radar.

‘410. I know.’

Knew what? ABAY looked down at the note with trepidation. Wasn’t this sort of thing exactly what she should be wary of? Perhaps she should report it to a teacher – it could be of use to them.

"410. 4:10? April 10th? Her mind went to work, breaking the code, and it wasn’t long before she figured it out."

"She was in a library. Someone wanted to meet her in the 400s – Language. It was a clever play – ABAY forgot her previous caution, caught up in the game."

Xenan (MEC) is 4'10"
So are Emilio and her twin Armando.

Also, 410 in the dewey decimal system is "Linguistics" (

Talia is a linguistics specialist (as was ABAY, but obviously she is no longer a suspect)
CaptainBinky 15 years ago
Heh - that linguistics clue is simply wonderful
nickenstien 15 years ago
Cool nice find!
CaptainBinky 15 years ago
What are you doing Nick, why are you voting for yourself? This isn't a done deal by any stretch of the imagination. I said in my vote that I'm willing to move if there's sufficient evidence.

That linguistics clue is a cracker, but that alone isn't enough for me to vote for someone.

The Jack Sheppard's life mirroring the life of Splaz with his repeated escapes and recaptures is just too tempting at the moment. I'm sure the word Sheppard wasn't a throwaway name. But that's not to say it isn't coincidence (after all, Sheppard is not an uncommon name).
FyreGarnett 15 years ago
well, damn. that just makes everything clear as mud, doesn't it? *sigh* i swear, the mods have the most twistesd sense of... whatever the heck it is they have! I hope that they remembered to keep of list of the real clues and who they referred to - cuz i can't wait to see it!!!

have class tonight - want to think this through a bit and will vote the second i walk through the door...
Den 15 years ago
I dunno. I've spent so much time re-reading the SK hits today, and while I see references to Splaz, I'm seeing references to almost everyone else as well :P Maybe not as many as those directed to Splaz, but after the fiasco with EZ, I'm not sure I can trust my judgement at all anymore.

I see references to Armando, Willie, and Jacob in Mafia, but since everyone else seems focused on Splaz, I guess thats the way the voting is going tonight.

It doesnt seem as cut and dried as EZ was, but, well, look what that thinking got me :P
CaptainBinky 15 years ago
Ooh ooh ooh...

There's a route 410 in Washington State....

Name: Willie "Pinky" Cleene
Place of Origin: Seattle, WA USA

Didn't spot that at first because of the abbreviation.
Dunno, bit tenuous?

This is Willie Cleene of Specialty: Visual geometry and vectoring, pattern recognition, spatial savant fame which rather nicely ties into the pattern recognition and joystick in the eye stuff. He's also been rather suspiciously quiet...

As another little nugget that might mean nothing... I think it was Teresa who first pointed out a clue against Willie way back in round 1... that the word "tonelessly" was used in the first S.K. kill which fittingly describes an albino's complexion. And Teresa was then killed by the S.K. Coincidence? Probably, but I thought I'd mention it.

Also, there's nothing to stop 4 10 referring to either April 4th, or October 10th - but I can't find anything particularly relevant about those dates
nickenstien 15 years ago
Hehe, nice work on those dates You've convinced me

Also the Pattern-recognition was a highly prominent factor in the Pillow-Smuthering SK-kill as well!

But actualy, didn't Lemmy101 bring up a good point about an Albino being Toneless in colour, which tied in very closely with the first SK. And then he got immediatly murdered afterwards ??

And with the addition of the New Linguistics clue & the route 410, I think I'm sold on the idea!

However, I must say that I am highly impressed with your Sheppard clue! Although as you say, it's a not a rare name to begin with.

I think there is a lot more on Pinky than me, to be honest.
CaptainBinky 15 years ago
er... haven't you just repeated almost exactly what I've written there, Nick?

Teressa == Lemmy101

I think there is a lot more on Pinky than me, to be honest.

Then post your thoughts, for goodness sake, and stop with all this silly voting for yourself nonsense

edit: Ah, I see you have changed your vote now
