New Moon!

Anyone else gonna go see this?

My daughter (who is 14) is insisting I take her. She's one of those Twilight addicts. LOL Posters everywhere, tons of t-shirts, etc. She read all the books. I have a feeling it will be just like the last movie... I will be sitting there watching this movie and she will be talking the whole time about "thats not how it was in the book!" stuff. LOL

plus all those old fashioned manners and british accents

I could so pass as a vampire. Not so old fashioned admittedly, but pale skinned and I even have fangs. *hiss* No seriously, the only 4 straight teeth in my mouth are my canines and they're all pointy! Dentist said I should get them filed down a bit, I told him where to go!

As for vampire movies... <3

those brothers are so not hotter than edward LOL. they're borderline metro.

I mean all vampires have fangs! It goes with drinking blood for heaven sake!

i dunno this is actually something i liked about SM's take on the vampires. its a lot more believable that all their teeth are razor sharp than just 2 pointy ones. bites look like a bite instead of some well placed jabs with an icepick. plus they don't look awkward as fk trying to talk with fangs ( a LOT of vampires look stupid as fk in the movies trying to talk with fangs.. )

on a somewhat related note, i do have a pair of fang scars on my arm ;)

I haven't read the books but is this movie safe for the pre-teen crowd? Erik wants to see if BADLY because he has a boy crush on Edward and the girls want to go.

Thomas from the Harry Dresden books is way sexier than Edward any day!!! :P

New Moon and Pre-teens... I would think it would safe. Its rated PG13...same as Pirates of the Caribbean. I saw a lot of young girls (like 10-12yrs old) at the Hot Topic midnight party I took my daughter too as part of her Bday present (as well as pre-ordered the movie)when they released Twilights on DVD. Atleast Twilight IMO was safe for younger crowds. No nudity or anything (bit of kissing here and there), don't recall any foul language, little bit of blood but nothing gross and gory... no more than you'd see on an episode of like ER. lol

Speaking of awkward with fangs.... have you ever tried to eat with fangs? Good grief.... went as a Vampire with those costume fangs that you use the glue/putty/whatever it is to attach them to your real teeth.

Trying to eat was for the birds.... literally. I just pecked at the food because I couldn't take a big bite...and I kept stabbing my lip!

well if they follow the books then yeah i would say it would be safe. The only one i see might be a little akward would be the last (Breaking Dawn) but I think they have plans on watering it down to keep it all along the same line PG13.
I liked the books. Some parts I thought could have been written better and other parts were like WTF did she just say? ?had to go back and reread it because of the way it was worded but the story/plot = good. I donno I read them each in a days span. and really liked them alot. lol

I am big twihead yes and i will be at the movies to see it~! :D Can't wait. It looks like it will be better then the first. I hope so atleast and hope it stays close tothe book as possible!! hehe
I CANT WAIT TILL ECLIPSE!!! the best book ... :)

I'm really curious to see how New Moon plays out as it wasn't one of my favorite books. Lol Adi, I did the same, I read them all in a day.

The way they portray Edward being protective of her, it reminds me of the Dark Series by Christine Freehan and I *think* that's what makes me like the twilight stuff so much? LOL The funny awkwardness of how Bella is, makes me laugh. I have no clue, I just love it.

I have fangs - i don't know why. They're just really pointy for those two teeth

I think Stephanie Meyer set out to write a fairly clean set of books for young people. I'd be surprised if there was anything too terribly objectionable in New Moon.

True Blood, on the other hand, is not for kids.

Edit - Vulash, I noticed this about you.

The thing about the Twilight vampires is they're so different from all other vampires. They have no fangs, they can exist outside if the sun is hidden by clouds, etc. Not to mention the strange sparkle their skin has. I think the fang thing is what bothers me the most for some reason. I mean all vampires have fangs! It goes with drinking blood for heaven sake! Its a very watered down vampire tale (and I didn't care for the books either). But I can find enough entertainment in it to see the movies.

LOL... ok I have to share my husbands theory on Twilight.

They live in the woods, and they sparkle in sunlight. They are faries.

I read the books and I enjoyed them alot more before the crazy pantie wavers got ahold of them. But they are trashy teenage romance novels. It's basically literary cotten candy.

Zero cerebral value, but a tasty enough read.

And I went to see Twilight and I'm sure I'll go see New Moon next week when I go visit my family. My little sister and Mom are really into the books and movies. Which is wierd because my Mom banned vampire books and movies from the house when I lived there. ><

Cat and I have tickets for Friday at 7pm with her BF. Her BF's mom is more excited than the girls.

Wait, your daughter has a BF Roz?=D is he cool?
Vulash 16 years ago
I think Cat/Vex not Cat/Catherine
Vex 16 years ago
Vex is Kat, not Cat

=)
ROzbeans 16 years ago
Correct, Cat is Catherine and her BF is her best friend Clarissa. Hell NO she does not have a boyfriend. When the wrath of all that is brown and good slams down onto the earth, causing the next Ice Age...that'll be a pretty clear indication that Catherine has brought a young man home to die.

woops! Sorry Vex.

All night my daughter was begging to go see New Moon this weekend, how she just can't go to school on Monday without seeing it cause all her friends are going to see it tomorrow night. LOL

So, my ass is going to buy midnight showing tickets to :present her with. Or so thats my plan anyway if I can get them! I called the theater to make sure they accept movieticket.com purchases, and they do. But for some reason that website is saying tickets are temporarily unavailable for that theater? So I called the theater back and told them. They said they are going to start selling more tickets (they already sold out one screen so they are going to open the movie on a 2nd screen) at 3:45 so if I can't buy them online, I can go there and buy them. He said there were 89 tickets available. *crosses fingers* Sucks cause the closest theater to us is this one and its a 30min drive away. :-?

The things parents do for children. LOL She's a good student, just got her report card (mostly A's, one B which is better than I did when I was in 9th grade ROFL), in several clubs (student council, art club, and spanish club, and band), rarely misses a day of school. She deserves it. :D
