New Moon!

Anyone else gonna go see this?

My daughter (who is 14) is insisting I take her. She's one of those Twilight addicts. LOL Posters everywhere, tons of t-shirts, etc. She read all the books. I have a feeling it will be just like the last movie... I will be sitting there watching this movie and she will be talking the whole time about "thats not how it was in the book!" stuff. LOL

LOL - My daughter just called me from the theater where she went to get in line to wait for the midnight show. Right now there are only four other people lining up, and she thinks they are for the 9pm showing of Twilight. I'll be curious to see how long before more people start arriving, but I'll find out myself once I leave work and head over. I should be at the theater around 3pm...to wait NINE HOURS!!! Yea, you're so right about what parents do for their kids! lol

(But then she waited at Walmart with me for six hours when I was waiting to buy the WOW collector's edition of the Lich King! :P)

You get your true test of parenthood and patience when you take your kids to Disneyland. Good gravy those lines. And just to see some guy standing in a character costume in 90 degree weather.

omg I know! I've taken my kids to Disneyland a couple times when we lived in Cali. Daughter was only like 4-5yrs old and just HAD to see Eeyore, Ariel, Winnie the Pooh...:bonk

Now though, its all about Six Flags and standing in line with her for roller coasters. LOL My son isn't all that keen on coasters so he and dad find smaller rides.

Oh yeah, and was able to buy 2 tickets online for the midnight showing! WOOHOOO!!!! I can't wait to suprise Shelby!!

The best time to go to Disneyland is in October, while school is in session, and on an overcast, Tuesday.
When we lived in SoCal, and since my nephew has been working for Disneyland for several years now, we've done a private study to find the best days to go, and that is what we came up with.

But whatever you do, NEVER go in the dead of summer, or during any holidays, unless you really love crowds. We went one year on Christmas eve and were there for six hours only to ride on 3 rides...the rest of the time we spent in line.

Know how to skip lines all together at Disney? Find the rides that are broken down/closed.. go to the uh.. town hall place and complain and they give you head of the line passes for rides. ;)

Last time we went it was like the 2nd week of school, end of September. Not a soul. First time - spring break. God that was a mistake.

Hi2u DERAIL!

This sucks. Its only a little after 8pm and I'm dead tired already. LOL Wonder if I could sleep in the theater while daughter watches? lol

I hope you don't really do that

Do what? Sleep during movies? LOL

I think he means complain about the broken down rides. That is disgraceful! Instead, you should complain about your arthritis... or early-onset osteoperosis... spinal meningitis?... whatever you can think of, in order to get a complimentary wheelchair :)

ROFL oh and it was my mother who use to work at Disney who told me they give passes for broken down rides.

Back on track though.... Just got back from midnight showing. Never....ever.......again. :eh LOL

Details!! How was the movie?
Nianya 16 years ago
It was good. The way they closed the end of the movie.... OMG! LOL Of course the special fx with the wolves was awesome!
Aniyah 16 years ago
I was worried about the special effects on the wolves. The first time I saw the preview of Jacob leaping over Bella and turning into a wolf it looked very cartoonish as opposed to the rest of the scene.

How was the midnight showing.... hordes of screamin girls (and/or boys?)
Nianya 16 years ago
Yeah the wolves are a little toony (and very noticable 3Dish look) in all scenes, but still cool looking IMO.

Suprisingly not many screaming girls. The only guys I saw were ones who didn't look all that thrilled to be there but went because their GF made them go. ROFLThe first scene Jacob takes off his shirt.. you hear whistling and yelling. LOL Both screens were packed, every seat taken! sheesh!

Of course, you don't see much of Edward in the movie, or any of the Cullens since they moved away. Its mainly sweaty wolf guys running around in cut off jeans, no shirts. Not like the ladies would complain about that. LOL

Black vampire dude with dreadlocks (forget his name - Im working on 2hrs of sleep right now lol) + wolf boys = nom nom nom nom ROFL

Better than Twilight, and overall good, but so not going to the midnight showing of Eclipse on 6/30/10. Nine hours is just too long to wait in line, especially when you then have to spend another 2.5 hours watching a movie in the middle of the night! lol
ROzbeans 16 years ago
Yeah I'm not that big of a groupie for any movie to do that. Well, maybe Aliens5, but probably not even that. I go to pick up our friends in 1 hr, then we go to the 7pm showing.

My daughter is already bugging me to take her to see Eclipse at midnight when its released. LOL I guess living in small towns has its advantages. When we got to the theater last night, there was no line..and thank goodness for online ticket buying! :yes

What made matters worse...
My daughter was the very first person in line for the 12:02am showing, planning on getting seven seats in the back row center for the three of us and four more women we got to know in line.
However, the theater was told by the studio to show Twilight at 9pm in two theaters before New Moon. So what happens? People buy tickets for both movies, come to the theater at 8pm, watch Twilight at 9pm, then get to keep their seats to watch New Moon afterward!!!!! Almost the entire last row was taken by the time they let us into the theater! There were about 30 people who kept their seats after Twilight, even though they hadn't been waiting for 12 hours for them.
I was so pissed that when we went to the movies today to see Blind Side I talked to the manager. He was VERY nice and apologetic, saying the studios dumped the whole Twilight pre-show thing on them at the last minute, so they tried to figure out the best way to handle it. While he was really sorry for the problem we had, they just didn't have a lot of choice in the way they handled it...
He gave me two free passes, which I appreciated, but I'm still upset that things couldn't have been done differently.

Bull.. They could have made everyone leave the theater after Twilight was over and made them stand in line like everyone else.

The place I went too, the manager there was pretty anal. I was standing in line to get a drink and there was a lady holding a small baby only 2 months old (omg he was so cute too!) who was telling me how the manager wasn't going to let her in the movie - reason because she had no ticket .. for a 2 month old baby! :boggle She was going to hold him the whole night... wasn't even taking a seat, or in a stroller taking up room! WTF is that shit? I've never been to a theater that charged for infants. Hell the theaters childrens tickets are for ages 3-11. She couldn't even buy a childrens ticket (they were only selling tickets at adult price for the showing regardless of age). And of course the midnight show was all sold out and she was going to be forced to leave.

Luckily, the guy at the concession stand, gave this lady his ticket. He was going to get off work at midnight and watch the movie, but gave up his ticket so this lady could get in. What a true gentlemen!
