The time has come....
Please post here suggestions for romantic ways for me to ask my girlfriend to marry me. We have discussed it and the answer is a forgone conclusion, but I want to make sure I do it like a pimp, so she shall never forget.
I have an idea or two, but I want to see what you guys come up with first.

Even if she likes being infront of people and doesn't mind things like speaking to a large group of people -- keep in mind, she may rather have this be a more private event. To some people this is a "what every girl dreams about when she's young" event - for other girls its important but not that dreamy
My proposal wasn't spectacular, but was sweet - it was in Jaunary in upstate NY at the north end of a lake that had a little park - we were limited on our options because he was from a different place and didn't know much about the area. Sometimes weird things are good - they are memorable. At first we couldnt see them, but there was a large group of ducks on the lake quacking away
I think it depends on her style, but I would go for the more romantic approach.
Also, I do feel concerned about the age thing - its not the difference in the age. You may be mature enough for this, but is she? Does she really know what marriage will entail? I would suggest reading a few books ahead of time (and her) if really serious about this and want to start things off the "right" way so to speak (i.e. if I knew that before, I would never have done x action)

But if she's shy or embarassed in public easily I'd be careful about pulling her up in front of all those people.. you want her to remember it not be so embarassed she's freaking. (like I would)
