I find Laha very suspicious. Rich, powerful family, friends with the Malfoys (Saying this, her family is probably pureblood). Her "history" makes her seem....evil.
Not much evidence pointing to her, but she is one of the few who did not vote last night.

So, Alex is dead, right? The Mafia killed him?

pshaw don't ignore obvious as too obvious.. think about the previous ones, I've seen blatant clues, but never this early in the game. My thought had been if the SK missed the vote then them dropping the amulet was a set up to pass off the SK role if they missed a second vote and were killed by the natural causes clause. (them assuming that would also hint to a more inexperienced mafia player for the SK who they weren't confident in perhaps?)
however nothing so far is super compelling so it looks like the old die roller program gets dusted off tonight.

The way I read it, if you miss two votes you are in danger of death by natural causes on the third go. So I really don't think the amulet is getting passed off.

Yeah, they wouldn't die until after the next vote... so if they missed a vote they'd still have to miss one more to die of natural causes.
Vulash

It doesn't matter why they missed the vote - I firmly believe that is a clue saying that the SK DID miss the vote- the reason why wouldn't matter since this is an after the fact clue. I really don't see this one as reaching, though I admit some of teh others were.
and of course I"m reaching! It's day 2 and there isn't much to go on
I don't think it's the horse lady just based off horse themes. That is way to obvious and I'm almost 100% certain Verlieah and Mai wouldn't make that a clue this early (or ever)

Not that it matters a lot, but yes. Flying seems to be a preferred mode of travel for the SK
I'm still stuck on the wand thing...
Silver Amulet? Hmm....
I think 'Perfect' eludes to something...
1 - Only 3 characters have silver mentioned in their bio's - Namilah Narayan, Alison MacAlister, Rorri Rosethorne
2 - Only 2 players have Wand fetishes - Alison MacAlister, Blake Macgregor
3 - Perfect - Only Alison MacAlister fits this description in whole
Sorry for the long post..

Round 1 Serial Kill Thread
There above him stood a student waiving a wand in the air with a satisfied expression on their face. David paused and sat on his hind legs wondering if they'd just gotten a new wand, why else would they be so happy to simply wave it around in the air?
I'm still stuck on the wand thing...

Silver Amulet? Hmm....
Round 2 Serial Kill Thread
'Perfect' There was a student oblivious...
I think 'Perfect' eludes to something...
Name: Alison MacAlister
Age: 16
Appearance: Alison is albino. Long white hair, straight and lustrous, falls to the small of her back, and her flawless skin is pale as winter snow. Her eyes are the only place where color found its mark; the left is a bright emerald green, and the right, a pale ashen blue.
Height: 5’2â€Â
House: Slytherin
Year: 6th
Favorite Subject: Flying
History: Alison learned, at a very early age, that she was better then everyone else. It wasn’t just that she came from a more prominent family, or that she was smarter, or more attractive (some would say despite her lack of pigment, others because of it), but rather simply because no one seemed quite able to do anything nearly as well as she did. In her studies, she excelled in nearly every subject she took, at least all the ones that mattered, and in sports, namely Quidditch, she was beyond approach. As the star Seeker for house Slytherin, she has brought much distinction to herself throughout her years at Hogwarts, and has even heard mention that not since Harry Potter himself has anyone moved so deftly on a broom. She, of course, did not need the affirmation. She new very well her place in the world-- at the top.
Alison has always enjoyed the fact that her mere presence gave those around her reason to better themselves, and sometimes wandered the campus for no other purpose then to improve life at the school. She has often seen that twinge of jealousy in the eyes of the other students, and sometimes wondered just what they would give up to be more like her, to have what she has. No doubt a number of ghastly habits have been shed as a direct result of her charitable strolls, and it might have warmed her heart to know this if she were not so busy setting an example for everyone. It was difficult, and thankless work, but Alison was of the mind that no good deed goes unrewarded.
Contents of your school satchel or backpack: An unusually expensive wand (made from a pale, slightly luminous wood called Sterling Pine, which is itself a composite wood produced from the rarely successful transmutation of huon pine, ground basilisk scales, and unicorn shavings), a silver looking glass with her family crest expertly crafted into the handle, a collection of 8x10 glossies (of herself), a pen (to autograph the photographs with), and a brand new textbook entitled Advanced Theoretical Flight which is not the traditional textbook offered to students, but rather one that was personally recommended to her by her professor.
Dictionary Definition of Perfect
- Lacking nothing essential to the whole; complete of its nature or kind.
- Being without defect or blemish: a perfect specimen.
- Thoroughly skilled or talented in a certain field or area; proficient.
- Completely suited for a particular purpose or situation: She was the perfect actress for the part.
Synonyms: perfect, consummate, faultless, flawless, impeccable

I'm leaning towards Angelina with Elvaiz's arguement, but I don't find it quite solid enough yet so I can still be convinced. Duexe I like where you are goign with the "perfect" approach - not something I had thought of.
The only parts I agree with with Angelina is the cleanliness part and the lanky part =/
One note to new people. Clues won't always be real CSI style clues. For example. The albino chick. For pretend IF she was teh SK - you might see descriptions including pale, and syncronyms of that. It might be describing something else in the scene, but it is there nonetheless and becomes subtley recurring. That is just an example of a symoblic type clue that you might see. So it isn't all literal.

the SK kill of the NPC also mentioned green light alot.. yes, that is the color of it but the specific word green over and over, instead of variations like jade or some other color reference.. could be a clue? except of course a zillion people in the game have green eyes and several have green in their name.. so no real help...?

Possibly, but the fact he chooses that word could still be a clue.
Anyway - I finally have some direction.
I think Rae is mafia.
First off she is bandwagon voting. After making my case against Barce yesterday she was quick to follow up with a vote. So was Roz actually. Today after Elvaiz made his case they were both again quick to vote the exact same. In the past both Elvaiz and I have had quite a bit of success at garnering votes once we were pretty sure someone was guilty - so it's a safe bandwagon vote after we make a case to go with it. Especially if we are wrong on that vote.
Traditionally you'll see mafia kind of "go with the flow" on voting to avoid heat and ensure a townie's death.
Second: Rae's char is a smartass and speaks her mind with no tact. A few comments caught my eye.
“Who’s this?â€Â
“Some Hufflepuff.â€Â
It would be obvious it was some Hufflepuff by the dress. I find this to be smartass.
“Oh, good job, now he knows our plan.â€Â
Again smart ass.
“Yeah, right. Look, I’m not playing around here. He knows too much, and he needs to die. End of story.â€Â
No tact there. Here is the except from the Bio.
when she does decide to speak to you, it is usually witty and sarcastic, feeling no need to gloss over reality with niceties.
Next is this possible symbolic clue. Granted a bit far reaching.
Alex felt a shred of sympathy for the bird, sent off into the world without having so much as a drink, - possibly symbolic of the life of a mafia?
Namilah doesn't know who her real parents are. Truth be told, she no longer really cares. She was found outside the Marabar caves in India. She was adopted by the ruler of one of the last traveling kingdoms,
And finally - she also has a Transfig Textbook in her satchel. One of the clues from day 1 that killed Barce. If we keep after people with books we'll get mafia.

Oh I forgot to mention -
So far Rae hasn't commented a ton in the ooc threads, but she is voting FAST after we vote. And I see her lurking alot. To me this speaks of someone excited and paying alot of attention, but scared to jump right in in the ooc. Rae is not new to the game, so I'm guessing low profile is more what it is - AKA EVIL VILE MAFIA. Ok maybe not but it's a strong hunch

Rae may be Mafia. The thing we need to think about is focus. Mafia will protect the SK and try to kill him only if he/she kills a mafia member.
Tying to kill the mafia right now is like playing battleship. Its too early...
Focus on the SK. That reduces townie losses and buys time...
Yeah, I know that raises your eyebrow Vul..., would me too. But you know the laws of attrition speak for themselves. Reduce townie losses and you increase towinie chances to win. It buys time for the Sherrif to ID Mafia members and increases the Doctor to ID saves.

That really isnt all that strong vulash. First, several people have voted in the same. Does that mean they are bandwagon voting? And smart ass? where yes my character is a smart ass, much could be said for most slytherin, especuially when discussing a member of another house.
I haven't posted in ooc, instead I was sending IM's and PM's. If you were feeling left out, I would be happy to send you one. What I find interesting though is that I told three people my suspicions for mafia. Before then, I was not a target but now I am? So more than likely one of those three, Simon Huntington, Illiard Greenwall, and Thaddeus Hendershot are mafia. And the fact that you are now pointing fingers without any substantial evidence would indicate that you are also mafia. In addition you are pretty vocal on the mafia clues. misdirection perhaps?
Incidentally, here is the suspicions that have landed me a target. I was waiting to post because of the last mafia game and thinking I needed a bit of support. That and this person is known to hold a grudge. Sorry BR. :p
I told three people that I believed Elise Meyr to be mafia and perhaps the godfather. these are the reasons why.
From Elise's bio
Now we all know that the mafia were looking at a transfiguration book and working out which spell to use. But look at this quote from the hit.
Now from Elise's bio:
From the mafia hit today, Alex was hit in the head.
From Elise's bio:
Also from Elise's bio:
This would support the theory that a member was good at transfiguration.
So, if I get hit by mafia tomorrow, everyone will know that I am right. You will also note that Alex voted for Dexter/Vulash and he was hit the next morning.

Now from Elise's bio:
a folder with an essay on turning toadstools into toads
From the mafia hit today, Alex was hit in the head.
The next moment he was sprawled out over the floor again with a sharp pain in his head
From Elise's bio:
She also loves to fly and makes an excellent Beater for Gryffindor.

That aside : My reasons for thinking it could be you had nothing to do with what anyone else thought. In fact I've only spoken to 3 outside of this thread at all, and only one briefly mentioned you.
Also: Yours clues for Elise are pretty good actually - At least as good as any we've come up with so far. Are there other bios that include a beater? I hadn't thought about that mixed with the trophy beating.
Lastly - I don't think anyone is going to buy that just because someone voted for me and died that I killed them. In fact anyone that played when I was SK would know that isn't my style when I can obviously get people lynched rather easily if that was my intention.
It's possible I'm 100% wrong about you, and after tomorrows clues I'll be reassessing my thoughts on what everyone is anyway. Getting hostile when someone points at you (and doesn't even have support to remotely lynch you) will only make you look guilty, however.
As far as the clues based on voting - typically those are the strongest clues we can get - and I don't find them weak at all. Fast bandwagon voting with little interaction is a tip off of past mafia behavior - and yes it does include many people. Mixed with the other things, and the fact that an old timer killed JInheim though I'm leaning towards you still at this point.

Easy there - i"m obviously just digging for clues like I do every game I play - if you are going to have to resort to these type of ooc jabs maybe this isn't the game for you?If you were feeling left out, I would be happy to send you one

Actually Vulash I was teasing on the PM thing. The same as I was teasing BR about holding a grudge, for the way she taunts Mai. Just as you have suspicions based on my voting, your actions are equally suspicious. That my name comes up right after I tell three people in private my thoughts is very suspicious. Add that Alex dies right after he votes for you makes it even more suspicious. How someone plays one game is not always how they are going to play the next. If you are indeed basing your opinion on a veteran play, then Elise/BR would also qualify, having played at least as many games as I have. Please do not confuse my lining up my clues plus a little ribbing as being hostile. That was not my intention.

My appologies. I completely took that wrong.
I do confess your thoughts on BR/Elise are good ones still - Hopefully tomorrow makes it a little more clear.
As far as you talking to someone then your name popping up - not much I can say as I haven't talked to any of them but Roz and that was yesterday at the very beginning.

I just wanted to pop in to let people know I'm still here ;) I haven't been posting a lot because I'm sort of stumped...although some very good arguments are being made in the ooc threads. Personally I don't put a lot of stock in veteran play because I've seen a lot of sneaky strategery ;)
I have some ideas of my own but I don't think they hold a lot of merit, so I've been weighing the ooc arguments. The fun thing about this game is that you can take things and twist them around and make several different people look guilty, whether they are or not ;) Just my musings.

This was acted by David Trelawny, not the SK. There's no indication that the SK is neat and tidy.
This is the only reference I see to "constraining" in the SK kill. The SK wants to constrain the thestral, but there is no reference to being constrained. This wouldn't flow with someone who might feel constrained by someone else (her parents).
Being thin doesn't necessarily mean she would be easily knocked over. She's not exactly clumsy.
And, yes, I did vote. ;)
mused absently that the ceiling could use a bit of dusting as there were quite a few cobwebs up there.

Now was the time to constrain one of the creatures to do his bidding
