Progression EQ server

There was no dabbling in this game for the first couple of expansions.

Mike and i were interested in going back when we heard about this, but the bottle necks are going to be there still and god that was frustrating. Fun but psychotic.

kunark will be open within 2 weeks of the opening i bet and then maybe 1 month more till velious and maybe even luclin. there is going to be alot of big name guilds trying for alot of server first and lots of power gamer so the expansions will get unlocked fairly quickly.

ZOMG i'll do it.

I've been looking for a reason to get back into EQ, and this just may be it =P

School ended for me 2 days ago, so I'm good to play.

I have some doubts now. If this comes out in July I'll be so behind the power curve that I might get too frustrated to catch up. Plus I can't even think of what class that I would like to play.

There was a lot of power gamers the first time and less competition at shit like the Emperor. Luclin, like before, is going to take for-fucking-ever.

I shudder at the thought of trying to shard farm with 3-5 servers worth of power gamers in the same zone.

You know how it'll be - tons at first but probably half will stay. Hopefully they'll make another server to cover any population influx.

It would really be funny if they reverted cleric spells back to the original set (i.e. no rez til 39). Half the new age players would leave the server in 3 days if they had to run back to their corpses everytime they died

Isn't that the point of opening that server? I thought it was all old original set ups. If it's not, then yeah the progression is going to be pretty damn fast.

im not 100% sure but i think they are reverting mostly everything back to the way it was.

Not sure how they are doing the spell sets. But i know that all the newer game mechanics will be in. Such as the LFG window, map and stuff like that.

I dunno, I would probably want feedback from people that try it. I could never play eq max on my machine for the great lag experienced.

The way I read it, with a few exceptions, only expansion content would be left out. Additions and changes to the game that are not expansion specific would still be in. I dont think the changes to rez spells, as well as doing away with regeants, was expansion specific. Same as when they changed it to where you basically get a spell at each level. In the beginning it was every 4 or 5 levels you got a couple spells. We'll see, I guess.
