Future Mafia Games

Some of my slacker gaming friends had the idea for a game they called Beta Dome. It would fit the Mafia theme nicely, and you could certainly add whatever touches you wanted...

The simple premise is that a group of scientists are working on a huge dome (Alpha Dome) underground for the survival of "their side" of a nuclear holocaust or whatever cataclysm you care to name. At some point the funding is canceled and everyone is sent home.

What no one knows is that the reasons for cost overruns is the hidden and much deeper Beta Dome.

Beta Dome is populated, functional, like the second Death Star, and eventually lost in the mists of time. Here civilization has taken on a new twist. Assassins are like sports heroes, and frequently wear small cameras to record their work, which is later televised and so on.

The one HUGE and UNFORGIVABLE sin is slay an innocent.

Anywho, we never took the game very far, but the concept is certainly viable for something like this...

Ye Gods, don't we all? That group was the best I have ever played with. And then the GM went off and got religion... Bastard. I don't care about his immortal soul, I had a high level thief/illusionist who needed some Monty Haul lovin'!!!

Has there ever been a Pirate Mafia? I haven't looked through all the old threads, but it seemed like an obvious one to do...

All on a ship. A mutiny afoot. A scraggly doctor who should no longer practice, a drunken bosun who sings off key, a Captain whose claim to fame is more body lice than the next man...

Ah...high seas adventure at it's finest...

Might one ask, why you are "too freaked out," or is that a personal thing?

Oh uh...I don't do well under pressure =x I ran a raid on our vampire role playing board but that's different, it was completely controlled, whereas I just don't feel confident enough to write as well as the other mods do; giving clues, making up red herrings and doing it by a particular time is just scary to me. I do want to give it a try sometime though. Billie keeps asking if I will and I'm sure I will...some...day.

Pirates could be fun hehe. I might volunteer to mod one one day, but not til I am confident in the game itself hehe

writing one could be a blast! you'd have to have your ideas semi thought out but adaptable for who the kills were chosen to be. but it could be quite fun i bet

ESPECIALLY since Cylons may or may not even know theyre Cylons! The bios could then effectively be their fake implanted memories :D
