Descepency with filed/approved Claim
That's the title of an email I sent the other day. Just realized I totally spelled discrepancy wrong. ><
'Say Anything' is a John Cusak/Cameron Crowe 1989 teen flick. ' A noble underachiever and a beautiful valedictorian fall in love the summer before she goes off to college.' This is actually not what this thread is about, but the message is the same.
Actually no it isn't, I just like imdb.com and the title sounded interesting. /snort
This is not necessarily a vent thread - far from it. This is about saying anything - weather, the bird outside your work window, the fundamental differences between Mormons and catholics, how Law and Order Criminal Intent doesn't get the props it deserves, that I always forget whether it's 'it's' or 'its', that my daughter has a beautiful smile and the first guy that breaks her heart - I'm breaking his knees...it's about anything.
So, say anything.

Rosalind,
Please be advised that Amazon.com is a widely used website by most adjusters in the industry. There is no "digging deep" as you have suggested. Also, please be advised that the TSP/Carrier has the right to replace items at current cost, and not the cost when purchased. Your form DD1844 did not indicate an exact model, but only stated "Playstation 3 wireless remote - black - stick broken" It is also noted that this item is not listed on the inventory, and therefore is no proof that we had this item in our possession. It is also known that the thumb pads stick on all controllers, including the PS3 dual shock controllers, which would be considered non-transit related and could be attributed to a manufacturer defect. Our intention on
settling your claim was based on fair and reasonable considerations. I do note that you did not have any problems with our offer for the shoe rack/shelf although you had submitted substantiation based on an item that was not the same item, but sent as substantiation because of price. You have indicated your dis-satisfaction for settlement based on "failure to reimburse the correct price", and as mentioned above, when settling claims, it is not the price at the time of purchase, but at a current cost for replacement of the same type item. You had supplied a picture of the
bent shelf, but did not offer to supply a picture of the controller, which would have indicated the type of controller, and my means of finding a replacement would have resulted in the same settlement. I consider our settlement was determined in good faith in this case.
Please advise your intention for closing this claim or pursuing the matter of additional compensation.
Regards,
Considering I couldn't even find that particular cheap replacement controller and you didn't provide a link for it, or even factor in the ridiculous shipping that would be in addition to said controller, how am I suppose to take a photocopy of the page at face value?
In regards to the shelves, your mover took a picture of the shelves and I was never told I needed to provide a picture of the controller, which I gladly would have done, but I appreciate you implying that I'm in some way being dishonest about the damage your company did to my property. That was classy of you.
Bottom line is: I sent you links which you ignored, then I sent you ANOTHER link from amazon (" a widely used website by most adjusters in the industry") at a reduced/used price, and you still have the nerve to be condescending with me about the property your movers damaged. If you want another DD1844 form with the correct item, then you should have asked for it instead of trying to sneak some fictional link by me in hopes that I'd take it because this process has taken so long.
I have notified Lewis/McChord Housing of your mishandling of this claim and plan on taking it up with the supervisor there to let them know of your inability to process a claim in a timely manner and in good faith. I also plan on letting my other military friends know of your company's incompetence and down right rude implication of fraud on my part so they can be sure NOT to use you.
Finally, I'm impressed with your ability to tell me 'screw you' in professional tone. I'll be sure to forward these emails to Housing so they can be just as impressed as I am.
Please consider this claim closed, because I have no intention of speaking with you, or your company, in the future.
