Say Anything.
'Say Anything' is a John Cusak/Cameron Crowe 1989 teen flick. ' A noble underachiever and a beautiful valedictorian fall in love the summer before she goes off to college.' This is actually not what this thread is about, but the message is the same.
Actually no it isn't, I just like imdb.com and the title sounded interesting. /snort
This is not necessarily a vent thread - far from it. This is about saying anything - weather, the bird outside your work window, the fundamental differences between Mormons and catholics, how Law and Order Criminal Intent doesn't get the props it deserves, that I always forget whether it's 'it's' or 'its', that my daughter has a beautiful smile and the first guy that breaks her heart - I'm breaking his knees...it's about anything.
So, say anything.
I think I've come up with an acceptable punishment. CeCe's been saving her allowance up so I think I am going to make her buy Kami a new canvas and new paints so that Kami can paint a new picture. I think if she went and broke some ones window she would be expected to replace it so this is acceptable too.
Maybe make her write an apology too.
I was a "latchkey kid" too, so my opinion is biased as a mofo... still, I think 13 is old enough.
But it's still a whole lot of fun.
I don't think I could leave my daughter alone for that long.
Remarks like "I love and respect my parents. Its about time others learnt to do the same!" as her status... only a few years ago she was hurling abuse at our Mum all the time. Like, wtf?
And then this morning, just to rub salt on the wound ... "Listening to Johnny Cash, my best friend is happy, and my mother loves me loads...great start to the day =D"
FUCK HER!
That is all.
:(
They should be thrilled to have you back and falling over themselves to see you again. They should be asking how your journey was and how you are and asking if there is anything you need. That's family and love, and its not your fault that these people aren't behaving this way. They, especially your sister and stepfather, seem extremely self centered, and if they can't see past their own nose to you, or do anything but target you, then you are better off without them.
I panic and feel rage when I see stickers on walls or desks ect. Thanks to my dads 45 minute tirade about what a piece a shit i was for putting some on my tv and how I was going to ride the short bus because I was stupid. All at the age of 8. Fortunately old age has lessened his craziness or I just leave if they get too ridiculous.
Michigan its 12 for leaving home alone and babysitting. I think your punishment of making her buy the stuff for your other daughter is pretty good. Def don't let her hang with that friend anymore. If you do go on vaca with out her I bet that friend comes back over and they could do more damage
Thank you all for your support, convincing me that it's not me. Got so many PM's on Facebook too, I was quite surprised o.O
In Atlas Shrugged, which I was unfortunate enough to decide to read, this one central character makes a speech. I am 9 pages into the speech. The speech is 60 pages long. W T F ? About halfway through the 1,168-page book, I noticed that the characters were becoming more and more prone to speeches, with each successive speech (or ruminations, if they lack an audience) getting longer and longer, but OMFG SIXTY PAGES IS WAY TOO MUCH! And it's essentially a rehash of the last 32 speeches. I don't care how many times you repeat that unrestricted greed-fueled capitalism is good, and compassion is bad, it's not going to magically become true. UGH. And the "heroes" of the story (greedy capitalists, most of which are entirely devoid of emotion) are so over-the-top absurd with their near-supernatural powers, I am just having a really hard time understanding why this book is considered a classic.
