well my first was i think 10-12 days late or so, he was 6 pounds 5 oz, 24hour labor

second was week late maybe? 6 pounds 7 oz, 5 hour labor ( cake)

third was about a week late, maybe less, 6 pounds 4 oz, 18 hour labor

cant go by the books, cant go by genetics. it just happens like it will :)

all three I had near perfect pregnancies, tiny bit of nausea and fatigue, 15-25 pound weight gain, no issues til labor. first I cut caffiene.. other two I didnt..

I'm back. I've officially "dropped." I got the lecture on when to come into the hospital if I start having contractions, ect. I'm measuring right on time now, when I was two weeks ahead last appointment. That, combined with other stuff, lead the doc to say it was official that I'd dropped.

Hospital bag is all packed. So now to wait. (I swear...curse of being married to a submariner...I'm always prepared way before an event happens.)

WOOT! I'm excited for you!

Had my 37 week appointment today. Nothing to exciting. It was one of those hurry up appointments since they are trying to cram a weeks worth of preggo women into 3 days. I go back next Wednesday.

Not sure if they had the results of my Group Beta Strep test or not. Guess I'll know for sure next week. I'm to the point, I'm ready for this baby to come. I get more uncomfortable and fatigued each day. As long as she is healthy and happy, she can come now. Though I'd prefer she'd atleast wait until after Thanksgiving. lol.

We did the hospital tour this weekend. The hospital is super supportive of breastfeeding and insists on rooming in as long as mom and baby are healthy. They also believe in getting the baby to momma asap. If it's a vaginal birth, it's immediate, and if it's a c-section (as long as baby is healthy) they try to have the baby to the mom with in an hour of birth.

I will be in the hospital a minimum of 48 hours. They like to have a day post baby to help you with breastfeeding and baby basics. This makes me feel relieved being a newbie at this. (Though Ryan does have a son, so he knows what to expect, he also know I have an urge to learn for myself. hehe) If I have a section, I'll be in a minimum of 72 hours. Can't really complain. I'd rather be sure of no complications, rather than have to go back. If the baby has any issues, she'll most likely get transfered out as they aren't equipped to handle super high risk babies, so let's hope she comes out all nice and problem free. *crosses fingers and knocks on wood*

3 weeks is so soon! I hope it goes well and you make it this last little bit :) That hospital tour is a good idea. I never thought about that. :D

That's great you're in there for at least 2 days, I was in for 3 with Catherine and that's with a diabetic pregnancy. Jesus it felt like a week though. Well I was in on 9/10, had her 9/11, left 9/14. You could start trying all the tricks - non stop sex, Castor oil, walking...god willing you don't go over 40 weeks though!!!

/hug! Good luck!

I asked the nurse during the tour about going over 40. She said they don't like doing that. They way it came up is that I'd hit 42 weeks RIGHT on Christmas. I'm going to pin point better next appointment just how long my doc will allow to go over. I would love to not go over due. I know today I measured at 39 weeks, but that measurement has been in flux like the last 4 appointments.

I think I was in the hospital for 2 days with Kami and 5 for CeCe (had a temp. of 104) both c-sections. I hope whichever way it goes that it goes well and you don't have to be locked up in there too long. After a while it starts to feel that way.

I was in the hospital all day Tuesday, 10/17, had Stef shortly after midnight on 10/18, and went home the morning of 10/20. But that was back in the stone age ;)

Ugh I was in the hospital a week. I went in on a Saturday night, was in labour all day Sunday and all day Monday and David was born by C-section at exactly 3:00 on a Tuesday. I ended up going home on Friday evening. It feels like it was yesterday too...2 years ago January.

It occurs to me that I make it sound like a ghastly experience. For the record I vastly preferred the labour and the c-section and all of that traumatic stuff to the 10 months of pregnancy. I hate waiting ;) I'm not saying labour pains are fun...but they are the most exciting part of the battle! And they result in immediate baby. Baby is the goal.

hehe. I'm SO ready for her to be out already. The aches, pains, and rib kicks are getting old. Not to mention I just wanted to lay down and be comfortable. People think I'm nuts when I say I'll get more sleep. I know I'll be up every so often (I'm already rocking the 2-3 hour pee breaks), but atleast post delivery when I lay down I will be able to get comfortable without a foot getting jabbed into my ribs. hehe.

The great baby name debate has begun. We put out a poll to the family, and it figures both sets of parents agree on a name. lol. So now we have to decide what WE want to do. Le sigh. lol

38 week appointment was interesting. BP and everything just fine. I was still measuring big though, so that, coupled with Ryan and I both being big babies...I got an ultrasound today.

According to the ultrasound measurements, she should have been born 2 days ago. She's also about 9ish lbs. I do know ultrasound measurements have a margin of error, so we'll see what the OB says when they get the report. I don't have another appointment until the 7th, but I have a sinking feeling that I will be called in earlier than that.

Oh shit lol. Well yeah they say the weight can be off by at least a pound but good gravy woman! Start sexin' up and running around to get that baby out!
Lolanae 18 years ago
Fun thing I just remembered -

My original due date WAS 11/27. So I'm wondering if they got it wrong when they dated the pregnancy via ultrasound ages ago. lol

They told me David was going to be 9 lbs too...don't worry, he was a healthy 7 lbs 11 oz.

Damn the peeing in the night...damn it to hell. That had to be the worse part. I never wake up to pee and I was up every 2 or 3 hours. As if being pregnant isn't tiring enough. I vastly preferred the middle of the night feedings. At least I didn't have to leave my bed for those (I had a cosleeper).

Lucky, I got up at 2am and 4am every night for 2 months =x - she was a formula bebe. Beli just had a 9lb though and if my 4'9" mom can squeeze me out at 10lbs 11oz, it'll be alright lol.

I just thought about this on Rikr's thread - did you post your baby registry link somewhere, Lolanae? Gibborz us link so we can gift that bebe!
Lolanae 18 years ago
They are inducing me today. Ryan's on his way home from work. I'll have the laptop with me so I'll post later if I can, if not, update when I return. Doc doesn't like the baby's size, so she'll be out in the next little bit by either me pushing or c-section. Wish me luck!
