Yea I already was planning on some water and maybe an orange or something to get the taste out of my mouth.

Don't eat the orange while you're waiting to get your blood drawn, that'll hike up your blood sugars. Just stick to water.

Yer bebe's head is cute! Man you're 29 weeks already, it's going fast, huh?!

I had two slings from Mamma's Milk ( http://www.mammasmilk.com/ ) -- the patterns were darling, but James, as a newborn, didn't warm up to them. I guess he felt squished or something. And when he was big enough to support his neck, I wore him on my hip and it amused him while I gave him a tour around the house. They did not really get much use because I didn't go on trips or places that would require carrying him a long time. Loading him in and out of the sling was more trouble than just standing in line at Starbucks for two minutes, getting my coffee, and getting back in the car. I was fine with just holding him normally then. I also confess that part of it was that I never felt like I got the hang of using those type of carriers, how high it had to be on my shoulder, exactly where he was supposed to be resting, was I cutting off the blood circulation in his legs, etc? We also had a front loading Bjorn and he loved that. He liked facing forward and looking around, but there was a weight limit on it, which he reached pretty quickly. (He's a eight month old and I'm already putting 12 to 18 month clothes on him out of exasperation on how tight some of the 12 month clothes have become.)

I do have a camping trip coming up in May and the question is ... will he be walking before then and not want to be carried or can I pack those slings and give them one last try? I am saving the slings for the next kid because every kid is different.

Also, here's a fun place to check out if you're not aware of it: http://www.thebabywearer.com/ Lots of different products, people love different things, and it really appealed to the artist in me that you could pretty much request certain patterns/styles just for you depending on who you were ordering from. I never used this board for anything other than looking at pictures of various baby wearing items and reading feedback about how people were using them.

Oh, the mamma's milk link also has several doll drag and drops you can use. If you buy one of their slings, then you get access to the same avatars, but with their custom slings added. This were mine (left was the custom avatar, right is freely available):

I have one of those slings and David pitches a FIT when in them. He's all squished, even at his small little size and the woman who sold it to me sized me and everything. I have a front loader bjorn thingy. I like it well enough, its straps are great for back support but regardless of whatever you're carrying, being off center like that is hell after a while. I took him to the commissary to food shop for about 45 minutes which I don't recommend. If you have to bend over a lot, those front dealios are not the way to go =/ However, for walks and trips - fo sho.

Yea now that I think about it a sling may not be the way to go. Everytime I bump my belly on anything the baby goes crazy and kicks me so I don't think he will appreciate being squished. Now I have to think up another way to lug him around the store. I had one of those carrier things for the girls but I hated carrying it and getting it in and out of the car. Maybe I can teach Erik to read the lists I give him and buy the things on the list. He usually goes ape shit and buys a bunch of junk food.

Thanks for the links Beli. Lots to look into still I guess lol. It's nice to have other people to ask this stuff too I have really forgotten alot about having a baby. This is gonna be so weird.

You might look into a wrap. Alison hates being confined, but the wrap allows her to move yet still feel comforted. It's also great for kangaroo time as a newborn.

Yea I saw those to and I just don't want to get something and have him hate it. I messed around on Amazon and made a little registry. Verity has claimed the "I am boob man" onesie because she knows Erik has banned me from getting it. ;)

You could also try to make your own if you are crafty like that. hehe.

And I love the boob man shirt!

Oh and that play mat is AWESOME! Alison has it and she loves it. Now that she can roll over and tolerate tummy time, the picture on the bottom fascinates her. The music and sounds are easily tolerable. There are two volume settings. The lowest is enough to entertain Alison, but not be too loud. The lights are soothing. There are also hooks where you can add more toys.

If you need action shots lemme know =) hehe

That's neat. I had a cheesy one for the girls but it kept them entertained so I could pick up a bit so I wanted to get one for the little guy. I'm just worried these dogs would think it was their toy and trample the baby. That's easily remedied since I can just lock up the dogs while he gets a little playtime. And it matches the swing I got him :D And I'm about as crafty as a pickle so if he likes swaddling and can do ok with that we will venture into the world of wraps and make daddy go buy us new stuff.

I was looking at baby stuff last night and Kami was sitting here and she says to me "Do you have Erik's credit card still so you can buy the baby stuff online?" Smart girl!

PeePee Teepee??? *dies laughing*

So far, that playmat seems really good on battery usage. We are still on the initial pack of C batteries for it.

peepee teepee??? omg...

my oldest did that one time - and got himself in the face. oddly enough, after that, he never peed without a diaper on again....
Laschae 18 years ago
The Peepee Teepee's are Verity's fault since she told me about them lol. So when I was putzing around on Amazon I saw them again and thought when she looked at the list she would giggle. I don't care too much about getting peed on as long as it's not like my face. I know CeCe peed on me really good one time but my fault for trying to take a picture of her little ass in my hand.

This doctor is confusing the shit out of me. First visit me puts my due date 5 days ahead of what I calculated, yesterday he puts it as what I calculated! So we talked about the c-section and have pretty well decided on sometime between the 16th-19th of June. This little booger is costing me an arm and a leg. The doctors fees just for visits and delivery are $3900 not including ultrasounds and blood work. Oh and it has to be paid in full by the 36th week. We called the health department and you have to make under $2900 a month to get any help from them. Idiots. Oh well I hope the doctor will let it slide that we may not have the $3900 by then. I'm not really positive. Waiting to see how much the extra tax check will be and Erik might sell a week of vacation time. I should have asked the doctor 2 weeks ago how much he charges so I could have curbed the retarded spending habits.

Good luck! I feel you on the due date frustration. I had some of the same mess with my pregnancy.
Laschae 18 years ago
 The glucose test came back bad. They want me to go to the hospital for the 3 hour test. I was just thinking to myself last night that between 3 pregnancies I have had just about every pregnancy symptom there is. I guess now that's really true. I hope it was just a flub up with the lab or something but I'm not too hopeful.

Dont' sweat it - think of it this way. You'll eat healthier =D
Laschae 18 years ago
Yea I have been really slacking badly on that. Erik's been home so much that whenever he's hungry there's just no how about we make something it's always let's go out and I should have been saying no. I'm gonna see if I can convince him to take a walk after dinner with me every day so then my fat ass is moving!
Lolanae 18 years ago
I failed my 1 hour, but passed the 3 hour. Good luck!
Laschae 18 years ago
That's really encouraging. I've been really worried all day. I know once Erik knows I failed he will be all over my butt making me eat better. That's fine though :) I hope the 3 hour test will go better.
