Fucking idiots. I have had near strangers be nicer than that. The other night, out of the blue, guys from Erik's work show up at the house with presents for me and the baby. After they left I told Erik that those are the kind of people we need in our lives not judgemental assholes.

So they're wanting nothing to do with their own flesh and blood's child because of the mother? I just don't understand people who go out of their way to not be nice - especially to someone so closely attached to their family. I'm sorry, dear. =/

My daughter's father and I never married. I initially kept him updated on my pregnancy, the birth, and the first three years of my daughter's life, out of a sense of courtesy. His parents wanted nothing to do with my daughter, and he didn't either. Consequently I just never talked about them, or brought them up at all until my daughter asked about them, around the age of 5 or 6. By then she hadn't had any connection, so there was nothing to miss. She wasn't subjected to any family issues that could have occurred, was able to understand that there are just some strange people in the world who can't cope with certain circumstances, and grew up better for having not dealt with that kind of drama.

Its unfortunate because your husband obviously loves his parents, and only wants them to share in one of the most spectacular and beautiful experiences in his life. You want your husband to be happy of course, so you feel bad when this kind of thing hampers that. At least your son is kept away from the ugliness, and hopefully won't even miss knowing these people.

Families...god they really suck sometimes. But you're lucky in that you have your own, and the ability to make it a loving, and happy place for you and your kids to live within. You just need to choose to do so.:)

Las, hun. first off *HUGE HUGS*. I know we've talked about them alot. It sounds harsh, but I really hope that this is the wake up call that Erik needs about these people. Neither of you need them in your lives. They're manipulative & cruel, and both you & Erik are better off without them interfering.

It's hard for a son to cut off his family and to ask him to do that would be like asking him to cut off his arm. The best anyone could do is just be there for him emotionally and just let it go. This will hopefully make him a better father - seeing how his isn't being a good example of one.

Yep. I just hate seeing Erik being treated this way. He's a good guy and in the last 5 days has really impressed me with how willing he is to help me and to take care of James. Oh well they miss out.

And I know Verity :( There is alot more to this story than what I care to rehash atm but they have been nothing but unkind to us. But that's Erik's decision to make. All I can do is protect my child and try to keep him as far removed from this as I can.

I can totally relate Laschae; poor Erik :( I hope he is able to see that there are people out there that are more deserving of his thoughts; you two have a gorgeous little punkin there, those "people" are insane to be so stupid about it. And childish, good Lord!

Erik's mothers cousin, who is like an aunt to him and the only family outside his parents, is dying of some form of cancer. It's really sad. Erik called her last night to see how she was doing and to tell her we were sending her a card (she sent presents for the baby and included CeCe and Kami by giving them presents too) and pictures of James in the card...she said she had a wall ready for pictures of her "honorary grandson". It's really sad that he has nice family and she's not got much longer :( Poor Erik I feel so badly for him. He's a pretty sensitive guy and we were both crying after that. It's such a shame :(

On a good note, I've lost 19 lbs and I gained 20 lbs with James so woowoo for me. I'm still a little swollen and bloated but I think I should be able to wear my old jeans again soon. Yay. I weighed myself a week ago and had only lost 6 lbs. That's how much water weight I had. I was like wtf how is it possible to lose LESS weight than James weighed. Stupid water weight.


And I got an electric pump yesterday. OMG It is awesome and it doesn't feel like my nippies are being ripped off. It took me an hour to pump 3 oz with the manual pump, it took me 10 minutes to do the same with the electric one yesterday. Hell ya!

I gotta take some more pictures of James so I can spam you guys with baby pictures :P

One thing I would do to help with my pumping is get zoned into something or watch Alison sleeping. I also lived on and still eat a good bit of oatmeal. hehe

How are things going?

My brains are fried. This was so much easier when I was 19 and 21! Yesterday he woke up at 1:30 am to be fed and was up til 3:30, then he woke up at 4:30 when Erik wakes up for work and was up the majority of the rest of the day til about 4 when Erik got home and I made Erik take James for a car ride. Thank god Erik got home when he did I was in such a daze from not sleeping and the baby crying so much. So I got a nice break and Erik even woke up at 3:30 this morning to feed the baby so I could sleep.

Since it's been so many years since I had a baby this is all really new. I don't remember CeCe or Kami wanting to eat like James does but I checked and he eats normally so no worries there. He's a pretty cranky little guy. He gets bored looking at one thing for very long so we're constantly walking him around trying to keep him happy.

Here's some new pictures taken within the last week. I gotta get off my ass and take them in to walmart or something to get real pictures made to send to my mom. Did this make any sense? I'm not even sure anymore. WTB nap.

Yea his ears are a little funny. When you hold him up so his head is straight they stick out a little at the top. I think he looks like a hobbit personally :P

Awww...he's just precious, and so is big sis!

:yes CeCe is such a huge help. She holds him all the time and walks him around and talks to him about all the things he's going to do when he's a big boy.

He's totally adorable, totally (ok he kinda looks like mine when he was that young, so going to be partial here lol)

Two? No he's only that cute when he's asleep ! Most of the time he's screaming his head off unless he's being repositioned constantly so he can look around and not be bored.
