Round 2 - OOC

some things that stand out to me

Captain's Name: Trepidation Morose ('Tre')
Ship's Name: Salacious
Ship Type: Single-masted sloop
Nationality: Scot
Flag: A Burgundy Flag with a Black Skull and White Swords instead of the traditional crossing bones.

Brief History:
Tre was the only child of Robert Mores, a notoriously bad pirate with a yellow streak (who's afraid of the big bad wolf?)instead of a black heart. Tre hated life on his ship, (the "daddy" references?) as it was clearly deemed an unlikely place for a woman to be, but she swallowed her pride and worked in the Scully and kept the books for her father. In her 18th year her father passed away from Scurvy and left the Salacious in her care. She quickly ordered the boat to dock and publically "retired" the Sloop from the seas stating that the Open Seas were no place for a Lady. After waiting a year she cut her hair and adopted the movements of a young captain who recently aquired the Sloop from it's Mistress. (shock being on recognizing a woman disguised as a man?) Hiring a whole new crew she set out and to this day maintains the appearance of Tre Morose and has garnered a reputation for being only after one dream, turning the Seas bloody and black in her wake. (both the blood reference in the first kill, and in both kills the bodies are sunk into the sea)

The big bad wolf was a mafia hit, not sk. :) Can't be both.

ahh ya I missed that.

A few things that stuck out to me from the SK hit:

Firstly as has already been mentioned, the "I feel so broke up" lyric from _Sloop_ John B.

A few pirates here have sloops, one of those being Santiago Ortiz.

but a few more things tie in nicely with Ortiz' bio:

In the SK hit there was the appearance of a tramp, and from Ortiz' bio we have "Santiago was, however, homeless and jobless". IE, Santiago was a tramp/vagrant.

There was also a strong thieving and deception (confidence trickster style) theme in the SK kill, and again from Ortiz' bio we find "his primary source of income was what he could steal from unsuspecting individuals"

Additionaly the bio talks of how he escaped from an orphanage at the age of twelve, so this is somebody who certainly has the physical dexterity and stealth to sneak up and kill with ease.

*Rubs her head* It's been a very long work day for me. I'm gonna just take a moment to point out a few things before I head off to actually reread the hits again and see who I think did it cause I know it wasn't me.

So let's see..
Dad was the coward not Tre.
Yep she hated life on her father's ship but wouldn't you if your dad was a chicken. In my mind she was probably made miserable by the crew being a girl and being her father's daughter.
Nope don't think she'd be shocked to be found out. I see Tre as being very adaptable after all she managed to convince people she was male long enough to establish a crew and a career. I'm sure she'd find a way to adapt if she got found out.

Did anyone stop to ponder if being shocked was just a typical reaction to someone flying at you due to something you said?

Oh and yeah Tre has a vendetta but it's more to outlive her father's past and make a name for herself in her own mind than anyone in particular.

Hmm now to go figure out who did it.

I see now what I was supposed to respond to.

The word "thump" appears one time in my bio (a thump on the back if I recall), and three times in an SK hit which is the SK thumping a barrel.

Frankly, I'd like to see you actually find some facts... any facts, and real ones... that show my character could have been at the scene, doing those things, in that way.

You don't solve mysteries by finding freak occurrences of simple words that just happen to appear in peoples' bios. You solve mysteries by putting together pieces of a puzzle, extrapolating answers and scenarios from fragmented clues. Tell me in what way my character was incriminated during the first SK hit. Tell me what about my character might have caused an expression of shock in the second. Tell me ANYTHING concrete that links my name to both the first AND second SK hits, and hell... I'll change my own vote to myself.

Nola is not the SK you are looking for *uses Jedi mind trick and then realizes she's got the wrong Mafia game*...

Either way, I cannot fathom why you would waste a perfectly good vote and throw it away on a whim, when as a Townie you -should- be trying your best to wheedle out the bad guys.

You also don't solve mysteries by putting together clues from both mafia and Sk kills to justify why someone is an SK. Which is something you have done. You might want to be more careful.

Tell me where please, so I can correct my own assumptions and readjust. If I did that I need to know so I don't bork it, kkthx.

I miss spoke myself It was the Mafia hit and the lynching you confused.

Which I corrected myself in the very first sentence of my next post, 3 hours later when I noticed my own mistake.
