Shutupsara, one of these days it would be nice if you could explain the rules for RL mafia. I'd like to host something like that at my house but I'm not sure of some of the details; I've only ever done online.

I'm not trying for anything. I do not honey my words, nor speak falsities :P
And RL Mafia is suuper easy. Just need a deck of cards. Face cards are for roles, numbers for townies. King is Sheriff, Queen Doctor, and Mafia are usually Aces/Jacks. Moderator shuffles and deals out the cards, same basic rules as Mafia here. When everyone has their roles, Mod tells them to "go to sleep" .. "Mafia, wake up" (Mafia opens eyes) "Who do you want to kill?" (Mafia silently points at the person they want to off) "Mafia go to sleep" ... wash/rinse for Sheriff and Doctor, replacing the "Who do you want to kill?" line with relevant questions. Once the players are done with their choices, Mod tells everyone to wake up, announces if there was a murder/attempted murder, and let the paranoia begin. You can add SK in, just saying "OK, the of is SK."
Tons of fun at parties. And players who have played awhile, and know the card system used can totally manipulate everyone else. "I can't be Mafia, I'm the 2 of diamonds!"
Edit: People being mod usually take turns, like the first person who dies is mod next round, etc. I enjoy changing some of the cards around when I'm mod, so the townie cards are different xD Also, when I say "sleep" I mean like closing eyes/covering face with pillow. It's assumed everyone is in the same room, but it'd be interesting to have people do this via text messaging. Would just have to ask that everyone keep their phone on silent (not ringer or vibrate)

Ok I'm going to try to address some concerns before I go fishing. ShutUpSara - I had just woken up so I missed something obvious. IF (big IF) you really are the sheriff and skided nadiya and it came back as not mafia - then we just got the GF. IF that is the case you really should not have posted that here after the plan - there are times for the sheriff to do ballsy moves like that, but this wasn't one of them.
Doctor: Stick to the plan except elevate Binky to priority over me. So Binky 2 of the next 3 days and then me on the other day you don't do Binky, and the 4th day after. If Binky dies we'll find a new safe goat for you.
As far as Verileah: This means she is probably a townie too, however, I'm not one bit convinced this isn't the mafia's real reaction to the battle plan - so work with her, but do NOT make her the safe goat if I die - Pharren would be next in line.
Now accusations at me. I think people not trusting me is healthy - so wondering if I'm not lying to you all, really mafia, whatever is fine. I'm not going to try to put you on the list or convince people you must be mafia and hang you. However, some of these accusations that look very shady - deliberately ignore points that have already been explained, and generally twist the true reality of what is going on while trying to discredit and prove everyone that worked with the plan IS VERY FUCKING SUSPICIOUS.
As far as voting. Nadiya was a lost cause to the mafia - people voting for her to die in the lynch could very well be mafia. What we dont' want is to get sucked into a sense of false security on this last round of voting. The mafa HAS to react to this. It's obvious we got one (or a townie wants us to lose? that would be weird, and a bit spiteful so I dont' think that is what is happening).
I think the mafia is reeling a bit to be quite honest, and slipping up in their panic mode. Just read some of these ridiculous responses. it's easy to see who is genuinely questioning the merits of the plan and who is defensively trying to undermine it.

I find it weird you leave out a particular scenario that is just as likely, if not moreso, then the ones you listed. As I've said Nadiya was a lost cause - even she knows it since she is posting early confirming her role. That means she just went out with a bang on her own, or the mafia (on their own board) basically told her she was a lost cause. Mafia will be voting for her this round. It doesn't clear anyone's name in anyway. What is interesting is that your only scenarios are that either they're both not mafia, or they're sacrificing someone for my plan.
First: Why would the mafia devise a plan to sacrifice someone when they're winning? We haven't successfully hanged a mafia yet as far as we know.
Second: Why is that more likely in your head then the fact that their sacrificing someone because she was going to die no matter what, and they can't look guilty trying to defend her. In fact I say this is their only intelligent response as far as voting goes.
Planet Earth, and the extinction lines, in that hit were good clues. Maybe Roz was watching it while she typed the kill scene, but we're definitely not forgetting those clues, or ignoring the people they could point at.

I'm finding it very interesting that the people who were suspect for the "Planet Earth" and extinction reference are following the vote proposal set forth by Vulash. If in fact 1 of them is mafia and Nadiya is as well, why are they voting for her? I guess there is time to change their vote but that seems to me that it would point fingers at them even more than not voting as Vulash suggests. Of course, the mafia could also have decided to sacrifice someone in order to make everyone else think Vulash is right and then the rest on the list are indeed townies to be slaughtered without a second thought. Vulash - One of my tactics in Mafia is to say exactly what I am. It's much more interesting that way, and people rarely believe you. Why would someone paint such a huge target on their back? It doesn't make sense, unless you're crazy. Or are playing the game, and seeing what happens. Now that I've revealed my role, the Mafia *should* kill me. But they could go the other way, and sneakily find ways to say that I'm Mafia, thus getting my lynched. It's all a matter of how smart they are, and how devious. I prefer devious and smart over transparent and stupid, but that's just me.
I'm actually surprised no one has said they were X role yet.. This is my first game on TAC, but not my first online game and not by a long shot the first game of Mafia. You guys play in ways that are sneakier than a lot of others, and I like it :D We'll see what happens next :D

Well for one - we've gone that route in the past. For two, this game has a lot more subtlety and depth then what you've described. No offense. You've said before you like to just say roles that you are - you didn't say you like to say the correct roles.
I'm going to spell it out. If you're the sheriff you've just fucked us up - we might be able to recover, but you've undone everything we've done to have a shot at winning this game. Why would you run a seperate simple plan when the one being run was working VERY WELL.
You basically said you skidded Nadiya. Did you skid me? You said you knew what I was. Think very carefully before you answer because if you lie wrong I'm going to rip you a new one.

I know the game's played as deep as politics. I choose to play it slightly different, because it fucks up everyone who *is* looking for those ulterior motives.
And how did I fuck anything up? I made a statement, same as everyone else has been. Whether or not people choose to believe me is up to them. Most likely, they'll continue doing everything you said. Changing the course half-way is dangerous, and can result in death.
I'm not choosing to follow you - you are what I thought you were, that's all I'm saying. Whether or not you or anyone reads that as "Oh, Vulash is XXX!!" isn't anything I can control, nor would I want to.
I don't encourage anyone to believe anything that I'm saying, or what you're saying Vulash, or what anyone is saying. People are tricksy, tricksy things. I will say this though - IF I am telling the truth and I am the Sheriff... who's to say that any inclination towards what SKIDS I've done are the actual ones I have? Maybe I just said "The results are such-and-such" to distract people from the fact that I've ID'd some Mafia, but need stronger evidence than "OMG! Totally MAFIA!" ... or maybe I haven't ID'd any Mafia, and everyone I have SKID'd has ended up dead by Mafia or SK.

ShutUpSara, if you really are the Sheriff (or are in cahoots with them) would you care to share your IDs? Since there's no SK now there's no harm in doing that, is there? I doubt you'd have so brazenly stated you were the Sheriff unless you expect Doc protection - so sharing your knowledge would allow us to weigh up whether it's best to vote with Vulash or you.
Just saying you're the Sheriff and then not giving us any real indication of how to vote doesn't help us kill the mafia.

What's the point of being a Sheriff if you don't tell the townies how to vote? I mean, "along the right lines" implies "not quite right but close" which means that at least one townie will be killed in Vulash's plan. I would prefer to kill no townies at all. PM me or post here or anything. But being vague doesn't help us at all.

I completely agree to keep our options open, but saying that you're the Sheriff and then not revealing your IDs is a bit weird. I would understand keeping IDs to yourself (or 1 or 2 trusted townies) if you hadn't revealed your role, but I can't see the point of not doing so once you have.
Revealing those IDs would allow us to reconsider our strategy - at the moment, the only real plan we have is Vulash's - I'm open to alternatives but for some reason Sara is being tight-lipped over everything except her role. Why?

You've already admitted you were sheriff. You have nothing to lose doing what you're doing if that is true. Instead you're acting like a mafia pretending to be the sheriff. I've laid out why that is. I highly suggest at least skidding me and posting it even if you keep the rest secret if y ou're really the sheriff.
And if we're on the right track I find it very odd you're trying to undermine the plan if you're a townie.
