Right now I imagine the mafia is regrouping and adjusting their strategy.

Here's where I stand:

We have a Sheriff claim on both sides.

On side A (Sara), we have confirmation of Boris being mafia but a fairly scattered approach to organisation. This could point to a Sheriff working independently, a townie who having set up this scenario now just has to run with it, but doesn't strike me much like a co-ordinated plan of mafia misinformation. It also, however, doesn't strike me as the best way for the Sheriff to help the townies win but if it's true that the IDs are all for dead people it could also mean that there was literally no-one to trust.

On side B (Vulash), we have a much more co-ordinated effort. A battle plan, a team of people, all organised with a goal. This is exactly what I would expect the mafia to do with a faux-Sheriff set-up, but simultaneously also what I would expect the genuine Sheriff team to be doing.

Side A, we have nothing to go on for our next lynch except Vulash (now captain of side B).

Side B, we have Verileah - supposedly confirmed mafia.

I would not be doing the townies any favours at all if I didn't give some credit to the Verileah mafia possibility but I'm not super-sold on it just yet. Perhaps I'm too keen to believe the Boris = mafia thing given how strong the evidence looked, but it wouldn't be the first time in mafia that someone who looked overwhelmingly guilty turned out to be innocent.

Gunning for the captain of side B is however what I would expect the mafia to be doing. However there hasn't really been much more than a vague push in that direction. Sara voting alone, no support, no heavy incriminations - again, not a terribly mafia-ey approach.

I swore Boris was mafia as well =/ But going back to the lynch and what it says I have to believe he was actually a townie afterall.
Verileah 15 years ago
I think Roz's suggestion is a good one. I'll hold off on clue digging until tomorrow. I'm second guessing my knee jerk reaction to Vulash's accusation anyway. Vulash, if you're a townie, and even after all of this I think you might be, please consider the idea that you might be wrong. If you have someone in mind that you believe is a townie, get a peer review of your methodology in determining the true sheriff, because something is very wrong on many levels with your information and it's going to cost us the game if something doesn't turn around.

Roz - I just want to say that this is the funnest effing game I've EVER played in my life! I am completely hooked! I've never RPed before anywhere and I am so happy I joined the forum here!

I was so lost in the beginning as to how the hell this game is played and I must say, now that I've caught on... THIS GAME IS THE SHIZZ!
I find myself waking up every morning with this game in mind and how the day will turn out. It's taking over my brain!!

Everyone - I also want to let everyone know that I have taken nothing to heart or been offended in an out-of-game way. Coming into this totally new and not talking to ANY of you before the game started, I was a bit intimidated and when things started heating up I was like 'DAAAYUM!" but for me it's all in fun.
I believe I've made many friends and acquaintances during the game and when all is said and done, even with all the arguing/finger-pointing, I consider all of you friends and I can't wait to get to know everyone even better!

AWW! *GROUPHUG!* :kisses:

(When's the next game start?!? LMFAO)
pharren 15 years ago
Probably not for a few months... people need rest and recovery time. But in the meantime I am glad you enjoyed the game! Every time I play, I try and get people to join, but it's just so complicated to explain that I think after the first 15 minutes they lose focus and it just sounds uninteresting. It's way more exciting and intense than any brief-enough-to-not-glaze-eyeballs explanation can handle, imo.

I'm pretty distressed that this game became so upsetting to some people, and that I had a hand in it, but if I had a time-machine... well, I could think of a lot other, more important things to undo, actually, but I'd certainly give it some thought. I'm sure everyone will be all shiny happy people in a day or two.

And for the RP thing... I really do wish I had RPed more, although it probably would end up getting me killed. I based my character on a real person, and I was enthusiastic about writing his bumbling, fumbling attempts to hook up with the teller, get shot down, and start trying to hook up with other NPCs (since like, trying to hook up with another player RPing is too weird for me), get shot down again, etc.
Ksagag 15 years ago
Lol. That would have been an interesting read. Then I could look forward to the hit AND who Joel was hooking up with this time! lol. I love a good romance. :P

I had full intentions of RPing more, but I think I got totally carried away with the clue-digging and OOC... maybe next time. And a few months is WAAAAY to long to wait! :( haha

I'm also surprised people are getting upset, but I also didn't really know what to expect. I know a lot of people here have been friends for a long time and have played these games together before. I guess I just thought this was normal.
I'm sure everything will work out in the end. Then we can throw a party and sing kumbaya around the campfire.

I'm glad you enjoyed it Ksagag! We try and alternate between art and mafia games every 3 months, but this time we have both going. We'll probably wait at least, A LEAST, 3 months before the next mafia game. We have some that didn't have enough sign ups so hopefully we can continue those and maybe we'll reboot some of the old games (check out past mafias for fun).

Let's just all take a nice, deep breath and remember we're friends. This game is intense, and honestly you guys totally rocked the shit out of it, but remember it's not real and we're really not trying to kill each other lol.
ShutUpSara 15 years ago
Killing people will NOT look good on my resume, so that's definitely something I'm not interested in. If people are hankering for more Mafia inbetween, mafiascum always has games going on, and they have themed and non-themed games, noob games, pro games.. games on your games, man
Verileah 15 years ago
It really has been a pleasure playing with you Ksagag. I hope you stick around.
Wystro 15 years ago
Everyone has been amazing, and I've really been impressed with the bright minds and passion that each player brings to this game. I didn;t know what to expect when I signed up, but I am not disappointed. That said, on with the game and with my vote.

Good luck, players! See all of you Sunday morning =)
CaptainBinky 15 years ago
Well, this is interesting.

6 votes for Verileah so far, 3 from people considered safe according to Vulash, 3 from people considered un-known or unsafe.

Question is, how many mafia are left? Have they voted already abandoning Verileah as a lost cause, have they voted already because Vulash's info is inaccurate, or are they yet to vote?
Verileah 15 years ago
It's you, me, Vudu, and Gongaa left to vote, right?

And Gongaa did the tiebreaker vote yesterday. That might prove his innocence - though there are possible scenarios where he is mafia, I believe they are less likely. Why would the mafia tiebreak to lynch someone they have planned to hit?

For that matter, though, why would the mafia put someone on the chopping block that they were trying to hit? :).

I'm not optimistic about my lynch proving anything. I don't want to put anyone else on the chopping plot because at this point, I don't know who's mafia. Frankly you all look suspicious :). That no one else apparently has -any- suggestions for who should be lynched ought to be telling, but, just like the results of the lynch, at this point people are only going to confirm what they already think they know. I wish the townies the best of luck and encourage continued clue finding, peer review, and maybe the occasional leap of faith.

I'd like to go out helping the townies any way I can, so I'll spend the rest of the time before the lynch (in between doing RL stuff) doing whatever clue finding and stuff I can. If anyone wants to point me in a given direction I'll pursue it. I know people won't believe me now, but maybe after I die some of you will think better of me :).

(Greywood, don't think clever lawyer words can get you out of your bargain. When roles are revealed, if I'm a townie, you buy me a beer. Holding you to that :). I have a diverse beer palette but as of late I'm finding I enjoy something nice and hoppy.

Keriath, I know I owe you a cold one too. Beer Con 2011!)

I only voted at all for Verileah because I spoke with her. I'm still sad about it, since I don't think she's guilty. I poured one for the homies with my milk and cookies tonight.

I'm aware that I'm probably next to go on to the beer garden in the sky, unless there's some GIANT clue in the hits... But that's not very likely, Roz doesn't seem to play ball like that lol

So, my thoughts on this latest kill.

‘Nice shot,’ sarcasm dripping.

‘Green was in the way.’

‘That matters why?’

‘He’s not part of this.’

‘Everyone is part of this. Everyone.’

This could be any number of people conversing. I’m not sure it’s just two.

They removed the towels and watched Victor struggle to speak, red blood spitting out of his mouth.

More references to speaking, or not speaking.

‘They’re coming back.’

One stood and ran out to meet the rest, ‘Where is…’ Their voice faded as the group got turned away, looking for some other item.

What happened here? One of the mafia came out to distract the townies by having them search for an item, yes? What item could they mean?

A survivor stood and opened up Victor’s chest bomb lying on the table, sliding out a piece of the explosive and walking back to Victor, tucking it into his neck wound. They connected the detonator to the explosive and then placing it in Victor’s hand, pressing his fingers and applying the necessary pressure to activate the bomb. They fingered Victor’s comfortably worn trench coat and sighed. What a waste.

The neck is mentioned, and the fingers are mentioned yet again. Is the finger clue still on? The killer fingers the trench coat, which could be a second finger reference OR could point directly to our fashion-conscious friend (right down to the SIGH). Wouldn’t –that- be a twist and a half! If that’s a clue, man, too fun!

‘God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.’

So, there’s going to be temptation, but there will also be an out. This fits many possibilities, I’m not sure.

Quietly, they filed out of the room.

Another reference to not speaking?

‘How did you know how to do that?’

‘I just did.’

‘In your mind.’ It wasn’t a question.

The other shrugged as they rounded the corner. They didn’t have to wait long for the explosion to obliterate the conference room and poor, sad, tortured Mr. Victor Wes.

Now to me this moreso implies a conversation between two people – specifically ‘the other shrugged’.

Awww man... That's big. Really big. Is it possible this is coincidence? It seems waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too on the nose to mean anything, but I can't ignore it now that I've seen it.

I mean, why say, "comfortably worn" ?!? The EXACT phrase out of Pharren's bio?!?!?! Good grief, Roz, you're gonna make my head explode. :(
pharren 15 years ago
Just for the record, the illustrious Joe-ell Toe-mahs would never be caught wearing a trenchcoat. He's wayyy too sophisticated to go around looking like a fat version of Laurence Fishburne from the matrix.
CaptainBinky 15 years ago
Let's just say, for the sake of argument that Vulash is correct.

Somewhere in this list are between 2 and 4 mafia (probably 4):

Binky
-- Pharren
-- Ksagag
Gongaa
Greywood
Verileah <-- AWOOGA
ShutUpSara
Wystro
Vudu
-- Vulash

So let's take Gongaa. If he was mafia, the only logical reason for voting for Victor last round is if Sara is also mafia. If she's a townie, then voting for her would kill off two townies that round. SO, either they're both mafia or Gongaa is a townie.

Therefore, if Vulash's claims are real then IDing Gongaa would potentially yield two known mafia and if you add them to Verileah than that's basically most of (or all) the mafia discovered.

The same case could be made for me since I spearheaded a "save Sara" campaign. If *I'm* mafia, then an ID on me would say a lot about Sara's status - again possibly giving two potential positive IDs for the price of one.

So, if we go along with the Gongaa and Sara both being mafia then that's pretty much all the mafia sewn up (especially if you include me as well). But as a set of mafia, do me, Gongaa, Sara, and Veri look like a viable set? If not then you're left with picking out of

ShutUpSara
Greywood
Verileah
Wystro
Vudu

That list includes bald people, spatulas, knives, money, tattoos, intimidating types, a gun, etc.

But IF Vulash's claims are real, then that's basically what we're saying. It's those guys (possibly minus 1). /points

(but an ID on me or Gongaa would help cement that)

And this is all a biiiiiiiiiiig IF those claims are real. I am as yet undecided.
Vulash 15 years ago
Also keep in mind based on early clues we believe the GF is a male - so ID's on males are a little more shaky than IDs on females at this point. That seems to sum it up pretty well though I think at a brief glance
