Say Anything.
'Say Anything' is a John Cusak/Cameron Crowe 1989 teen flick. ' A noble underachiever and a beautiful valedictorian fall in love the summer before she goes off to college.' This is actually not what this thread is about, but the message is the same.
Actually no it isn't, I just like imdb.com and the title sounded interesting. /snort
This is not necessarily a vent thread - far from it. This is about saying anything - weather, the bird outside your work window, the fundamental differences between Mormons and catholics, how Law and Order Criminal Intent doesn't get the props it deserves, that I always forget whether it's 'it's' or 'its', that my daughter has a beautiful smile and the first guy that breaks her heart - I'm breaking his knees...it's about anything.
So, say anything.
You're over 25, right?
I don't like you anymore.
Mike's wow account hacked the other day. He got an email saying his account was closed for selling stuff illegally, but he hadn't been on it for two days. So he emails wow, explains what happened, and they reopened his account.
They took everything. Eve-ry-thing. Emblems, everything non-soulbound, all his jewel crafting shit in the bank. About 11k gold, he said. He's going to petition tomorrow for a restore, but he said he's not hopeful and it'll take every longer than reopening the account, so he says if they won't do it, it's time to quit wow. =x
They will restore everything. They're used to it by now. 5 days seems to be the standard wait period for characters that got server transferred or banned.
My guildmate's account was hacked, probably through a script on a webpage. They spent all his emblems, all his honor points, sold every single vendor-sellable soulbound item on all of his characters, stole everything out of our guild bank and sold all of that, and transferred one of his characters to another server where they did who-the-hell-knows and got banned for "manipulating the server economy". Not only did Blizzard re-transfer his character and restore all items/emblems/honor/guild bank, but they somehow accidentally gave us doubles (ostensibly because he both petitioned and sent an email, and was dealing with two GMs) of almost everything in the guild bank... all 6 tabs... yay for us :x

but i'm on a mac, we don't have stupid webpage vulnerabilities :P
i need to get my wow account compromised then.

I still maintain that my account was brute-forced, seeing as how a dozen+ different scans (run multiple times) and 3 days of examination of my pcs netted zilch except lost time.

You could try "accidentally" announcing your username/password in Trade.

Where would they get your username, though? That is the mystery, and that's why people (scary, conspiracy theory people) think it's an "inside job".
Brute force your password, okay.
Brute force your username, AND your password?
My friend's computer scanned clean also, and his password was not something you'd find in a password file. It could still be brute forced by the method of aaaa - aaab - aaac - up until you hit r7xbc1mn, but, man... with the sheer number of accounts being stolen, I don't think there is enough processing power in the world to be able to brute force that many in that amount of time using that method. Maybe there is. Who knows? Distributed cracking through botnets? We're talking trillions upon trillions of permutations, all told.
Had a guildy account hacked and they took all his plat and droppables and deguilded him heh :(
"The Funniest Kids Test Answers Of All Time"
These things are awesome. Funny answers kids put on tests when they don't know the real answer (or just want to be a smartass, I guess). The Tetris one is great.
This whole site is hilarity but this one had me laughing pretty good. Also the Kittens for Tiger or Horse Farm were great.
Why i never thought to email people on craigslist is beyond me
Pharren - my fav was the TMNT's where the teacher wishes he could give him points
one of my guildies from OMC figure blizzard either does it or sells your account info so you go buy their little thingy lol, 6 or 8 bucks (i forgot) from all the players...thats alot of money O.o
6.95, and free shipping.
I was trying to remember where I read that they make almost no profit on it, and instead you are basically paying for just the unit, but I haven't been able to find either bulk purchase info or the original blurb that I read.
Ok morning rant. I feel better. Time to go beat the hell out of the pony again!
I just replaced my 1997 Ford Escort with a 2010 Chrysler 300. My Escort was like Nianya's Sebring, except in addition to bad brakes, it had bad accelleration. Merging onto the Interstate is not much fun when you step on the gas and the engine revvs but the car keeps going 35... Also it had manual locks and windows and only an AM/FM stereo... not even a tape deck. Needless to say, I love love love my new car. So sexy.
I bought a 98 escort new (the ZX2) and just sold it about 6 months ago. It was a fantastic car. I'm going for a Tacoma in August or Sept
Saw another one from my house today, and the newly installed sirens were going off. Scary, scary, scary!
Luckily it started breaking up then changed direction before it started forming up again. ><
