Say Anything.

'Say Anything' is a John Cusak/Cameron Crowe 1989 teen flick. ' A noble underachiever and a beautiful valedictorian fall in love the summer before she goes off to college.' This is actually not what this thread is about, but the message is the same.

Actually no it isn't, I just like imdb.com and the title sounded interesting. /snort

This is not necessarily a vent thread - far from it. This is about saying anything - weather, the bird outside your work window, the fundamental differences between Mormons and catholics, how Law and Order Criminal Intent doesn't get the props it deserves, that I always forget whether it's 'it's' or 'its', that my daughter has a beautiful smile and the first guy that breaks her heart - I'm breaking his knees...it's about anything.

So, say anything.

OMG it's 90 degrees in my house WITH the AC on ... I'm roasting :(
Eve 15 years ago
Wet and rainy here, actually cooled down a lot. I had to turn the thermostat up to bout 74 to get the dang thing to turn off LoL Why is your place still 90?
Laschae 15 years ago
I have no idea maybe it's because the shingles are off the roof? I dunno...but it's freaking miserable. It was 65 in the house this morning when I woke up. I want it back to 65!
Eve 15 years ago
Yeah no shingles might play a part in that for sure. If it's hot out and the sun is beating down directly on the roof, can imagine that might heat ya up :( You can come hang with me in our puter room and freeze your tootsies off ;)

We had one measly tree in our backyard, and one not-so-measly tree in the front yard, and ever since cutting them down, the A/C is all fucked to hell and back. It lies about the temperature. You set it for 77 and it blows until you're ice cold then doesn't turn back on til you're sweating.

ANY protection from the sun makes a huge difference.

We don't have central air.

Instead, we have a large window unit in the living room and a small one in the kitchen.
The living room unit is on full blast (setting 10) at all times - even when NO ONE IS HOME.
(Needless to say this pisses me the fuck off.)

When I got home from work the other day, it was 66 degrees in the living room, 68 in the dining room, and relatively cool in the kitchen (without that unit being on.)
I was watching a movie in the living room a few weeks ago, and it was so cold my teeth were fucking chattering.

My mom and brother put two small window units in my bedroom (25x16, we don't have a single unit big enough to take care of it) which they set consistently at 66.
When I'm in the room, I put it on 74-75, on "energy saver." Most of the time I don't even use both. I shut them off when I leave.

When I get home, they're both on full fucking blast.

WHY IN THE FUCK DO YOU NEED COOLING FOR AN EMPTY FUCKING ROOM? *headdesk*

OH and the requirement that I have "googleapis.com" "allowed" in my NoScript just to get fucking paragraphs when posting using these forums SUCKS.

WHILE I"M AT IT

FUCK SICK PEOPLE WHO COME INTO WORK SICK

I have no idea why you have a problem posting with paragraphs here.

Good luck with the ac issue.

I think you should not fuck sick people, particularly at work *nods*

Never had air conditioning in my house.
Laschae 15 years ago
I never did either and really it's not even AC it's an evaporative cooler, it pumps cold water onto pads and blows it into your house so it's kind of ghetto. Erik's father sent us 2 little window units but we only have one window that opens the way you need it to so that it will fit. when it's like 80-85 outside it's not horrible in here in the lower 80's/ upper 70's I can live and I would much rather be a little overly hot then a little overly cold...I THINK =P

CeCe is blaming me for her not being able to get on DA she sent me a message on there "Stop using bad words I can't log on when you use bad words!" so I went back and looked and I never said any bad words.
Laschae 15 years ago
It's 99 degrees today and Erik's putting the roof on our house :( He already melted part of his shoe trying to put the ice and water sealer crap on. If he falls off the roof I hope he aims for the grass and not the concrete or carport!

Im loading up all my programs now and hope to be ready to go by tomorrow.

Its so nice to be back on two monitors again *sighs happily*

He got me a 22 in wide screen too but I told him he could have it, unless it will mount to my Ergotron, lol.
KaAnna 15 years ago
Man, I want two monitors. Or at least a bigger one than my 19". I feel so behind! lol
Eve 15 years ago
LoL My gamer girl friend came downstairs last week when they came over for dinner and finally saw my 24" monitor. She said she was gonna take it home with her. Told her she could try :D
Lessa 15 years ago
Mine are 19s but with two ( or three when I get to have both video cards going) they seem huge. I like to have one for the scene in Daz or Poser or Photoshop, and the other to hold all its windows and itunes and whatever else Im playing with. The Ergotron is awesome too cause it keeps them all up and off of the desk.

I'm going to buy a laptop soon (once I get my loans!) for school I've always built my own desktops, or at least for the past 8 years or so so I am completely out of touch. So far HP looks to be better priced than Dell. Any recommendations?

It won't be skimpy. I'll be doing a lot of graphic applications, modeling, some basic programming, multiple PDFs/webpages at once, and potentially editing multiple figures at once. I want it to be able to do this for several years as well, so I'll be looking to go more towards the top end range. Also - I want to be able to customize it - I never like everything a preconfigured offers.

Oh, and no Macs :D
