Say Anything.

'Say Anything' is a John Cusak/Cameron Crowe 1989 teen flick. ' A noble underachiever and a beautiful valedictorian fall in love the summer before she goes off to college.' This is actually not what this thread is about, but the message is the same.

Actually no it isn't, I just like imdb.com and the title sounded interesting. /snort

This is not necessarily a vent thread - far from it. This is about saying anything - weather, the bird outside your work window, the fundamental differences between Mormons and catholics, how Law and Order Criminal Intent doesn't get the props it deserves, that I always forget whether it's 'it's' or 'its', that my daughter has a beautiful smile and the first guy that breaks her heart - I'm breaking his knees...it's about anything.

So, say anything.

I wasted a thousand dollars of food this weekend.

Go me.

What does folks think about the idea of closing this "say anything" thread when it hits 1000 replies, and starting anew?

Some people just like the closure I guess :) I see it as more a challenge to get it as long lived as possible! Bring on 10k!

Several months of frozen stores + leftovers from a party that was planned to have more than thirty people / (one freezer + two fridges) - electricity = boned.

If we had worries about, say, threads imploding after they get to a certain length (which happens on some boards, but I've never seen it happen with our board software) I could understand starting fresh. But yeah, I gotta second Roz - y?

It was from about a six month period.

That's rough, to lose all that food. I know if our fridge and freezer lost power we wouldn't lose half of that, but it would still hurt, and we don't have a house full of five adults either :S

Okay now, I know I've ranted about my boss before, but this is different :)

So, my boss noted that she would be taking the Thursday before and the Monday after the 4th of July off. She doesn't tell me these things, just assumes that I'll go to the vacation calendar at some point, or be surprised. She sent her boss an email, which ended up coming to me in a reply which is how I discovered it. Anyway, a bit after that, she decided that she was also going to take the Wednesday before off. Fine, even sent an email to me to that effect. THEN, she said she was coming in late on the Monday and Tuesday before that. Which did NOT happen, I might add. AND NOW... She's NOT taking Wednesday before off, but she's now taking the Tuesday AFTER the 4th off. And maintains that that's what she had scheduled all along.

I forwarded her her own emails with a polite request as to what she actually would be taking off, because I like surprises but others may not.

*sigh*

I actually went back and read through a lot of the pages the other week. I suppose if we had restarted the thread at the beginning of 2008, that would make sense but I don't think we need to close it up at 10k. /shrug

maybe try to do 20k by the end of december.. hehehe

Don't you have 3 kiddo's too? We easily spend $800-$1k a month on food. I *might* be able to get that down to about $500, if I spent my entire life scanning the newspaper ads & shopping sales & clipping coupons, but I'm too lazy.
I'd love to know how you get by on $200ish a month on food :D

One of these days I'm going to sit down and figure out how much I spend on take out...one of these days when I'm calm, and unflappable. I'm sure I'm not going to like the number I come up with :P

Theres this burger/sandwich shop in macon, makes awesome burgers, and every thursday theyre half off, One burger will fill me for two meals easy. we get takeout that night, baconcheeseburgers or whatever kind we likee, and it feeds the family for under 15 dollars ( i think like 2.50 a piece or so)

once a week take out is our limit, rest of the time I cook at home. :)

We didn't eat much take out til I got pregnant. No matter how much I asked Erik he just isn't into cooking so he would order pizza or go somewhere and get something instead. I'm sure once I'm fully healed it will be me cooking every night.

My new computer came. I'm not allowed to lift anything. :( So I am trying to be patient but Erik won't be home for another 8 hours. Torture!:sad

My niece has arrived! Kiera was born at 2:46pm. She was 7lbs and 4oz, and 19inches long.

:clap Congratulations to you and your family!

Erik got home early and set up my computer. This widescreen monitor is weirding me out to no end. I cant get the resolution right without it distorting things. I don't even want to think about reinstalling everything.
