Say Anything.

'Say Anything' is a John Cusak/Cameron Crowe 1989 teen flick. ' A noble underachiever and a beautiful valedictorian fall in love the summer before she goes off to college.' This is actually not what this thread is about, but the message is the same.

Actually no it isn't, I just like imdb.com and the title sounded interesting. /snort

This is not necessarily a vent thread - far from it. This is about saying anything - weather, the bird outside your work window, the fundamental differences between Mormons and catholics, how Law and Order Criminal Intent doesn't get the props it deserves, that I always forget whether it's 'it's' or 'its', that my daughter has a beautiful smile and the first guy that breaks her heart - I'm breaking his knees...it's about anything.

So, say anything.

I liked the Oscar's new format of presenting the major awards. Having 5 previous winners read really touching speeches about each nominee was incredible.

Sean Penn winning best actor was a surprise though. I literally gasped out loud =x Kate Winslet getting her dad to whistle so she could see him in the crowd was adorable. Heath Legder's family's speeches were awfully sweet, as well. Just about everyone they showed in the audience had this painfully sad look on their face, some were crying.

I don't normally watch the Oscars, just the highlights the next day, but with Hugh Jackman hosting and the movies up for awards this year, I was glued.

Dawsn ( my 9 year old) faked being sick so he didnt have to go to school today :lol

Since both his dad and his sister had had the stomach flu this week it wasnt a big stretch.. til I caught him this morning on his Xbox360 up in his room and then he asked if he could have breakfast.. lol

God I get that every morning.

'Mommy my tummy hurts.'

'Mommy my throat hurts.'

'Mommy I have a headache.'

'Catherine, unless you're throwing up all over yourself, your throat catches on fire, or your headache matches mine RIGHT AT THIS MOMENT, you are not staying home from school.'

When we were in Alaska Catherine used to call, like clockwork, every week from the nurses office. Tummy ache (usually after lunch) or whatever...the nurse and I were on a first name basis till her teacher caught on. Of course the one time she didn't send Catherine to the nurse's office, she was sick and had a temp for 3 days straight. =x Oops!

The 360 cures all though, :teehee

haha, yeah we have a rule, if youre sick, no video games! And he swore up and down he threw up.. in a garbage can.. He's a smart boy, but not very sneaky.. he didnt think that we would actually look so we could clean up his alleged mess..

WHAT THE HELL? I bought girl scout cookies from one of Catherine's friends and we got them today. They're 3/4's of the size they USED to be and it still cost the same? What the hell kind of evil crap is that??!
Lessa 17 years ago
they shrunk them?! May have to go with Keebler Grasshoppers from now on *huffs* I think we bought a bunch of boxes too.
ROzbeans 17 years ago
There are definitely less in a pack and the boxes are WAY smaller. I'm only eating them out of spite. O_o

It's always seemed a little too effortless to finish off a box of Girl Scout cookies, but if they are a little easier to dust off this year, it's not just in your head. To offset the cost increases of cookie ingredients, Girl Scouts of the USA made the decision to shrink its cookie boxes by a centimeter, package fewer cookies into boxes of Thin Mints, Do-si-dos, and Tagalongs, and reduce the size of its Lemon Chalet Crèmes.

My ass 1 centimeter. There are at least 4-6 cookies missing per package. Why didn't they lower the prices then? God those fuckers.

I read Tagalogs at first and was wondering when the Girl Scouts went ethnic.

hehehe, my son took his first (5 consecutive!) steps at 7 months.. of course he didnt try walking again after that for another 3 weeks, but it blew me away.. he seemed way too little to be walking.. it looked all kinds of wrong.
Laschae 17 years ago
He just figured out how to sit himself up and crawl like 2 weeks ago! Then last night we were playing on my bed and he tried to pull himself up to stand! He just kind of hunched himself over. He's just too determined. I'm not ready for him to be a big boy :(

I've managed to reconnect with people I knew from like as early as the 5th grade on Facebook. I friggin found my best friend from when I was 10 years old, not to mention people I haven't seen in over 20 years. Wow, modern technology.
