Say Anything.

'Say Anything' is a John Cusak/Cameron Crowe 1989 teen flick. ' A noble underachiever and a beautiful valedictorian fall in love the summer before she goes off to college.' This is actually not what this thread is about, but the message is the same.

Actually no it isn't, I just like imdb.com and the title sounded interesting. /snort

This is not necessarily a vent thread - far from it. This is about saying anything - weather, the bird outside your work window, the fundamental differences between Mormons and catholics, how Law and Order Criminal Intent doesn't get the props it deserves, that I always forget whether it's 'it's' or 'its', that my daughter has a beautiful smile and the first guy that breaks her heart - I'm breaking his knees...it's about anything.

So, say anything.

Wow, I didn't have anything like that happen to me.

i've got some spinal misalignments, so anything central to me has been highly susceptible to popping in and out of place

Ohhhhhhohohoho Noooohohohooooo... Never, ever would I ever get into a plane and then JUMP OUT OF IT. Nope, not me, no way. I've got the willies just reading about it.

I won't bungee jump, but I'd jump out of a plane.
Den 16 years ago
I totally get that comparison Jet. I had always wanted to sky dive, but bungee jumping scares the hell outta me :P
Jetamio 16 years ago
Well I hate being upside down for a start lol, then there's the implications of the cord maybe being too long or such.../shudder

Well, there are the upright harness (wedgie!) style bungees...

Ooh, how about bungee jumping out of a plane?

I've been at the hospital since noon Friday, when my dad called me at work and asked me to go get my mom, who works just down the street from me, and take her to the hospital. She was using the restroom at work and found she was passing a lot of blood with her bowel movement, and has vomited and passed what looks like a couple of gallons of blood (as my dad says "she filled up six of those barf trays"). Since she has some pretty serious kidney issues this was especially scary. I ran her up to Augusta hospital where she was admitted, and extremely early the next morning was transported to the larger hospital down in Portland (ME) to have a TIPS Procedure done. Last night she had lost so much blood that the doctor gave her a 50% chance of pulling through. After they did the upper GI last night they seemed more optimistic. This morning they said that she's not out of the woods yet, but she got through the procedure well.

Anyway... so yeah, that's it. Scared the crap out of all of us, didn't sleep all weekend; feeling better now but we're STILL at the hospital, they're going to start charging us rent soon I think.

*sigh*

*hugs* Its scary when our parents have medical issues, and are ones that can't be easily remedied. I hope they get a handle on what's bugging your mom soon, and that she's on the mend quickly too.

I broke two toes this weekend, painting my bedroom! One looks freaky, hellish scary too, all black and icky :-o
Jetamio 16 years ago
Well that was a rather silly thing to do :P

I hope your Mum is doing better now Darsa /hug

My Mum is having a rough time at the moment too, and has kept it from me til recently. She told me she'd been signed off work for stress, but her bf told me that she panics if she even has to leave the house. She's never been the highly strung type and it worries me to hear she is like this now.
Then to top it off, the doctor had to give her meds to lower her heartrate cos its beating way too fast and might fail. This she did tell me thankfully, I didn't have to hear it from her partner, but it scares me. She's only 42 :(

Mom's doing better, thanks you guys. She's able to talk a little bit and they took her off the ventilator the other day. My daughter was so happy yesterday when Mom said her name and asked how the garden was doing. :) She's still got a feeding tube and is being "closely monitored", and she'll have to stay at a rehab facility for a while until she's able to come home, but at least she's waking up and knows us which was a big question; apparently the ammonia that the liver is supposed to purify affects the brain so it was a question as to how much it would be affected.

Now they're trying to figure out the procedure for type-matching my brother and me for a possible live liver donation. Hopefully one of us can donate.

My mom's PC got hit by a Virut variant on Friday night. Some variants are fixable. This one... holy fuck. I've never had to give up on a PC due to a virus before, but this one infects executables (even in Safe Mode), blocks AV apps and servers, runs as a rootkit, and is invisible to boot CDs that scan your drive without loading Windows. Made some progress by killing some of the payload activity, but it's fucking persistent.

I also got my truck stuck in a shit ditch.

And I found a vibrator while rock climbing on a nature hike. With a battery nearby. And 13 cents in various places. I picked up none of this.

And I had an arm spasm and threw my $500 phone out the door of my truck. Yay for invisibleShield doing its job. Too bad it fell on a corner, which is where coverage is incomplete.

Saturday had better be fun. "Adult night" at the local mini waterpark. 21+ only, waterslides/wave pool/lazy river, live band.

My hubby once had his windshield broken by a cell phone that flew off an overpass... Always wondered what made it fly :lol
